I also uploaded most of the looks on my MUA Portfolio page, in which there are mentioned some of the amazing photographers I have worked with. I whish to thank especially two different photographers Fritz Von Weisberg and Eva Ferrier, for giving me the opportunity to work with them. They are both have very different artistic styles, but both of them believed in my artistic talent, for which I will be always grateful for.

As time goes by, I do hope I get to chance to work with other various photographer and apart from that have different clients, that will enable me to create whatever they and I want.

Photoshoot with Valeria and Fritz Photography

Hello dear lovely readers,

Last week, I had one hell of a busy week, however it was filled with some exciting events, one of them was this lovely shoot I had last Sunday. I had the pleasure to work with a lovely Swiss model called Valeria and the very much talented  German photographer Fritz from Fritz Photography.

Valeria wanted something natural colours on the eyes, for which I used a mixture of brown colours  from the very light to the dark shades. While for the lips, something a bit more bold and colourful for which I used a lovely matte red lipstick.  I am very pleased with the final result, however I did encounter some make-up problems with her fake lashes, because her left eye kept tearing up and the lashes couldn’t stick nor dry. Which reminds me, that I need to buy some various types of fake lashes hehe.

Her make-up stayed put throughout the photo-shoot, there was honestly no need for retouching and that’s all thanks to some of my fabulous high quality products . I still assisted during the photo-shoot and made sure I had all the essentials, just in case there was any need.

The products which they are a must for every make-up look, if it’s for a photo-shoot or any other occasions for which the make-up has to look good for hours are primers. I used my favorite Prep and Prime by MAC primer all over her

face and for the eye’s the Urban Decay Potion Primer which works wonders for the eye-shadow to stay put for over 4 hours. These primers are a bit pricey, but they are worth every penny and give the best results, which I believe that in the end all of my clients deserve the best.

I also do highly recommend Fritz Photography, if you are interested in having some professional photos taken if it either for yourself, or a special occasion or even for a fashion spread.  He is one talented photographer and you have to admit, the photos do look pretty awesome :D. Lorde – Royals – Make-up look

Hey guys,

Here I am again, with a new Make-up look for you guys :). Recently I have been obsessing over the song “Royals” by Lorde, and of course I couldn’t help but notice the simple yet original make-up look she is wearing on her music video. The overall make-up look is very simple, however the eye-shadow/ liner is quite unique. There’s something about it that is really edgy yet basic, which also reflects this cut-crease winged liner.

L2

Eyes:

  • This looks is very basic, it all about application. I by using a primer and then used a matte white shadow under the brows and into the inner corner of the lid and I applied a beige colored shadow on the mid lid.
  • Then I started applying the winged eyeliner upward and onto the crease. The shape reminds me of a cat’s ears.
  • Finally I used a black eye-shadow and applied it on the liner and blended it out.
  • Last but not least I applied a dark black mascara.

L4

Porducts:

  • Urban decay Potion primer Eden
  • Make up store white michroshadow
  • Urban decay Naked 2 palette – bootycall and blackout
  • NYX the curve eyeliner
  • Benefit – The’re real mascara

L1

Cheeks:

  • NARS – Laguna bronzer and Deep Throat blusher

Lips:

  • Her lips are in a nude colour which is why I used the MAC creme cup lipstick

I hope you enjoyed this look, it was a lot of fun for me to do this look. If you do get to do this look please tag me, I love to see your takes on the looks I create :). Thank you for following and for reading my posts, feel free to comment, like or share

1 year blog Anniversary :D

Hello guys,

So it has been officially a year that I have been blogging on my old blog Make-up by Sarah-Jane and this blog altogether. It has been such an amazing journey, this blog that really helped me in a lot of ways and it has made me experience a lot of new things and enhance my artistic capabilities.

When I started this blog, I did it to find that feminine side of myself again which I had lost when I was studying to get my degree. I was spending a lot of days at home studying barely going out and no time to get pampered and take care of myself. So I started blogging about the things I loved and doing make-up looks as I used to do before my college days and it was a lot of fun. As people were very interested in my opinion of what products I used and my make-up artistry application, I started to love this even more. The beautiful thing about cosmetics is that they can make you feel, your worth a 100bucks, confident and pretty.

I love doing make-up not only on myself but also on others, because I can make everyone feel pretty and confident with some simple make-up tricks. Everyone should always feel beautiful, everyone should treat themselves as a prince or princess, as as we do that we feel better about ourselves and we can accomplish anything we want in our lives.

I will host a giveaway soon, but I need to do a little bit of shopping first :). My giveaway will contain some of the products I truly cannot live without, so keep posted and thank you for your support

Morticia meets Corpse Bride – Halloween Make-up Look

Hey guys,

So I thought I’ll show you one last Halloween look I did on my sister. She originally was going for a Morticia Addams look but she really liked my artistic devil look, so she opted for something more artistic. I called this look Morticia meets Corpse Bride because being that my sister has some really big eyes, the way I defined them through make-up reminded me of the corpse bride.

I am not going to explain in detail how I did this look because it will take me a long time. But the images can really help you understand what colours I used and how I did it.

2

Face Base:

The most important thing for a look like this is to make the face look as pale looking as possible, I used some very light foundation and concealers and also tried to hide the eyebrows so that I can draw on them.

1

Eyes:

For the eyes I went for a dramatic red smokey eyes very similar to my devil look which you can view here. I used a lot of red on the lid and even under the eyes, it gives the impression that the person is either sick or dead. It is important to contour with some dark black color to give the eyes further depth. On one side of the face I drew a spider web using eyeliner. Unfortunately the result didn’t come as great as I wanted it to be because they liner wasn’t great but it was satisfactory.

3

Cheeks

For the cheeks I contoured the face with a very dark bronzer, the darker it is the lighter it makes the rest of the face look. I also used the mac breezy which is a reddish blusher.4

Lips

For the lips I used a mixture of matte and shimmery red and then I lined the lips with black eye-shadow.

Well I hope you like this make-up look , it was quite fun for me to do. I love doing artistic make-up, I feel like a true artist :). If you love this look please comment down below and feel free to share,

Pretty Devil – Halloween Make-up Look

Hello guys,

As you all know Halloween is round the corner, which is why I did this make-up look just for you guys. I wanted to do an artistic version of the pretty devil, which is a bit different from what we usually see on Halloween. It was really fun for me doing this look, I love using my artistic skills to transform myself into different characters.

5

This look may not be easy for some to do, however you can take some of the aspects of my look and transform them into something else, but quite similar. I will try to explain in brief the process and show you how it was done.

7

Eyes
Instructions:

  • It started this look by using a primer all over the eyelid and even on my brows, then I applied a little bit of a shimmery shadow under the brows.
  • Then I applied a red eye-shadow all over the lid and outwards and topped on some burgundy shimmery colour.
  • I used the same technique under the eyes, and onto the cheek bone and lined it all out with a black eyeliner and finally layers of mascara.
  • I do suggest fake eyelashes for this look it will make it even more dramatic, but if you don’t like having fake lashes, mascara should be more than enough

Products:

  • Urban Decay Potion Primer Eden
  • Make up store Michroshadow in Satin – white shimmer
  • Elf 100 palette – red colour
  • Fraulein 38 – Nude Palette – Shimmery Burgundy Colour and Black
  • Barry My Eliner
  • Collection big fake ultimate Mascara

Cheeks
I applied the Primak- Sunkissed bronzer to contour my face and MAC breeze on top of it, to give it that reddish look.

3
Lips
MAC Ruby Wood and Black eye-shadow to contour the lips.

Helena Bonham Carter – Vogue- Inspired Make-up Look

Helena Bonham Carter is a truly exceptional women in her own dark way. I love the mixture of Goth and Vintage style she has. Even-though I wouldn’t agree on most of her fashion choices, I do love that she is true to herself and doesn’t let anyone change her. I do believe she is a great actress and that doesn’t mind looking weird or ugly for the sake of playing an awesome character.

HBC1

However for Vogue she looked her gorgeous true self in these goth and vintage photos. So I thought of channeling my inner Helena and do a make up look, inspired by this shoot.

The make up look is very simple and very much 50’s style. The eyes are very natural with a touch of brown to contour the eyes and some dark fake lashes. The face is very pale with a tinge of bronzer to highlight the cheeks, while the main focus is on the dark red lips.

HBC2

HBC4

This look is very synonym with what is in vogue nowadays. Make-up nowadays has been giving a lot of focus on the lips rather than on the eyes. We are seeing a lot of red lips this summer and I have to admit, I am truly loving it.

Well I do hope you like this look, if you do either like or comment down below, thank you for following.

xoxo
