Green Liner -Summer Make-up Look

Are you feeling the Heat? If not move to Malta and you will feel it 😀

Since Summer is here I created this make-up look to get you in the mood. My main inspiration was making use of my new Pupa Milano Vamp Definition liner in 500 Emerald Green.  I wanted to create a simple but fun look for this season, were less is more. In Summer I feel it’s right time to experiment with colours but at the same time use medium coverage foundation and keep it simple and fresh. You don’t want to look like the Joker when it’s too hot. So avoid a lot of layers, and stand out be wearing colorful liners or bright lipstick, like I’m doing in this look.

GL2

TIP: I am not going to bore you with the details but I will tell you the secret when using a coloured liner. Always match it up with a black liner,  cause it might not suit every skin or eye colour on its own. However the trick is to first apply a the thick coloured liner and then apply the black liner after. I one did it the other way round and the result wasn’t nice. Apart for applying on the eyelids you can apply it also under the lower lashes.

Since I wanted the liner to be the centre of attention, I used very natural eye-shadow.  But I still wanted to do something bold with my lips and I used my favorite Matte purple lipstick by Sleek called Exxxaggerate 792.

Colourful eyeliners are very much in Vogue nowadays, especially on the catwalk. Which is why Pupa Milano always has the right products for anything that is in style. I really like this eyeliner and I might actually buy another one from their range, the electric blue 301 looks so cool. The Vamp Definition liner costs €10.90 and it is found in most beauty outlets and pharmacies around Malta and Gozo.

I do hope you love this luck, do not forget to follow me or like my Facebook page. Keep updated for more looks and cool updated.

MAC Candy Yum Yum Lipstick – Review

Hello there,

It is finally Spring 😀 My fave time of they year and what better way to start spring than to try out new lipstick shades. As you all know, I have quite the MAC lipstick crush, I just love every lipstick from MAC. It partly their fault for making fabulous lipstick colours, that have the best quality pigmentation. Till now I have about 20 lispticks but I am pretty sure the collection will grow.

To make it worse they have finally opened their stores in Malta AHHHHHHHH 😀 That was my inside voice screaming with happiness. I still haven’t visited their stored yet, deep down I really really want to but I have other priorities at this moment that need me to save up some money. So I will be a good girl, till the right time come 0:)

Candy Yum Yum3

One of the latest addition to the MAC family is the Candy Yum Yum bright Pink lipstick. This might be the brightest and most shocking pink lipstick I own, which might scare a couple of people from actually wearing it. But if you have seen my make-up looks you know I am not scared of being bold and edgy with my make-up. I have to admit this shade is not ideal for Fall or winter, but since spring is here let’s rock some bright shades.Candy Yum Yum1
The packaging is sleek and bullet shaped as all of their other lipsticks. As for the texture even if its matte, it is on the creamier side especially next to my ruby woo.  The lipstick stays on, like forever, and applies like a dream. For some this might be a bit pricey to afford, but it’s worth all the money, once you try them you will agree.

Candy Yum Yum2

Pros:
• Beautiful sleek black packaging as all other MAC lipsticks
• Creamy texture
• Long lasting between 5-7 hours
• Worth every penny

Cons:
• Nada , nothing

Will I ever buy this product again? I probably will, I think it’s nice to have it in my collection, so if I ever run out, will purchase again

Do I recommend it? Definitely, it’s of the highest quality lipstick and the colour is yummy as candy 😀

Rihanna Inspired – Make Up Look

Hello Beauties,

The beauty of Make-Up is that you can always create something different. I find that Make-Up is pretty much like choosing what to wear, if you are feeling girly, you wear something girly. If you feel like being bold you wear the most crazy outfit you have, and make-up matches that feeling or look. So my muse last Saturday was Rihanna, I like how she wears little of no make-up on her eyes and then she wears the most bold lipstick colours, a dark red or even black as you will see in the image below.

Inspiration Look

Inspiration Look

Instructions:

As you can see in the image, the eyes are very natural while the lips are in a bold black lipstick. I didn’t want to wear a black lipstick as I would probably shock some people here in Malta :P, even though I have a similar shade of lipstick in reality. Instead I wore  very dark Purple colour by ArtDeco.

Then for the eyes, I kept it as natural as possible yet I went for a very similar bronzy shade to as what Riri is wearing. Please note that me and Rihanna have a very different skin colour so the shadow will definitely look different on me. After applying the eyeshadow I made sure to apply a very thin liner.

Something I like about her Make-Up is that she does little or no liner and then she tops it up with mascara, and her eyes look simply flawless and the lashes bigger than ever, when in reality they probably aren’t as big. When you apply a thick liner there is a big chance that you lashes wont be as visible or as long as they probably are. I honestly doubt if she had any fake lashes on in this look, if so they are probably a few individual ones.

Arrow Liner – Make Up Look

Hello guys,

If you follow me on facebook you would know the reason behind me being MIA, but a while ago I did this look and I though of sharing it with you guys. I called it Arrow, being that the main focus of this look is the arrow-like eyeliner. I have to be honest the result it not as precise as I wanted it to be, however I really liked the colours of shadows I used for this look.
A1

Being that I’ve done this look a long time ago, I honestly forgot what product I used so I am just going to explain about the look itself. If you have a look at the below eye-look  images, I used a mixture of bright colours to contrast with the blackness of the liner.  The shadows I used were a nice white forty shadow under the browns and into inner corner of the eyes, then as a mid tone I used this nice orange-rusty colour and instead of the usual dark colour on the crease, I used a nice purple colour.

NYX Stay Matte but not Flat Powder Foundation

My intent to purchase this powder was based on the mixed reviews I have been reading about it, apart from the actual need of a powder myself. After using it for a couple of months I completely understand why some love it and some don’t. I have honestly loved this powder because it is perfect for my oily t-zone, it has a lovely finish and stays on for quite a while.

http://cdn3.volusion.com/ndryf.tsvno/v/vspfiles/photos/NYX-SMP-2.jpg

The reason behind the bad reviews is because people try to use it as a foundation, which I completely understand being that it’s said to be a powder foundation. This is not a foundation but just a setting powder, and you need to apply a foundation underneath or else it won’t stay on your face for a long time. I bought it in the natural colour, which matches my skin colour perfectly, especially in winter. I still use it in summer especially under my eye over my concealer.

http://orbloom.files.wordpress.com/2012/10/dsc003733.jpg

I wish to excuse myself for not providing my own images for this product but being that I have used this powder a lot, it’s not in the best shape so here are some images taken from the net.

I am a huge fan of this powder, I carry it with me everywhere it’s probably the best powder the price it sells for which is similar to that of any drugstore brand. The texture is fine and silky, great for oily skin, but it you are super oily I would go for something different, because it has a medium coverage. However if you have a normal combination skin, this is perfect.
The packaging is lovely, durable, very sleek and MAC looking; the only think that is a bit annoying is the tiny little plastic tab that you have to use to get the sponge compartment. But other than it’s definitely a must have.
Pros:

  • Sleek, durable packaging
  • Formula with medium coverage, fine and silky
  • Long lasting
  • Good Pricing

Cons:

  • The lid for the sponge compartment to tiny to open

Will I ever buy this product again? I will for sure, being that it’s soon coming to an end (because I use it every day), I need a couple more of these.
Do I recommend it? Definitely, it’s a good quality product, and perfect for anyone with a combination skin.

Make Up Store – Gloss Lips in Cleo

A while ago I visited the awesome Make Up Store at Tigne Point Sliema, and I was given this gorgeous lip gloss. I have to admit that I wasn’t wearing a lot of lip glosses lately but slowly after seeing my Idol Beyonce wear this bold glossy red lip-gloss in her latest music video Partition looking sexy than ever, I knew I had to give them another shot. Cleo is a beautiful red lip gloss, very pigmented and surprisingly opaque. It can be worn on it’s own or on a top of a lipstick looks exceptional.

C1

It has quite a sticky texture, but after a while the stickiness reduces and it becomes a bit creamy. Apart from being glossy, it also has small shimmery particles in the colour itself, which make the lips look pouty and glossy. As to longevity, I do find it to be pretty average, I do need to apply the gloss after a few hours. But overall I do like it, and I am glad I have it in my collection :).

C2

Pros:

  • Beautiful Pimented opaque lip gloss
  • The packaging is pretty handy to apply and travel with
  • average longevity
  • reasonable pricing

Cons:

  • Not a bit fan of stickiness of this lip gloss, because for some reason I always end up with hair stuck to my lips

C3

Will I ever buy this product again? Probably, even if I am not much of a lip-gloss person, I truly like wearing this lipgloss and I love it soft feeling.

Do I recommend it? Definitely, it’s a good quality product. If you manage to get this well lucky you but it not do check out some of their other lip glosses as the quality and formula is pretty similar.

Flawless – Make-Up Look

Hey guys,

A while ago I bought the “Flawless” tshirt from Beyonce’s new Album clothing line. As most you already know I am quite a huge Beyonce fan and as a Woman and quite a  feminist I am really in love with her song called Flawless.  The song Flawless is about us women believing in our true natural beauty and to always work to better ourself and not to please men but to please ourselves. With that motto in my head, I put the shirt on, wore some fancy jewellery and wore a fearless and “flawless” make up look. Some of you might have thought I would do a more natural look, because indeed we are all beautiful naturally. But nothing makes me feel more flawless than an edgy make-up look, cause in the end we should feel free to express our self the way we like. 🙂

F1

The look is very edgy, smoking but still feminine, check out my step by step instructions below:

Eyes

F4

Instructions:

  • For the eyes I basically did a normal Smokey eye look with a twist underneath. I started off with the black eye shadow onto the crease and blended it out on the mid lid with a beige/white colour. Very easy and simple to do.
  • I also used a brown colour on the crease to blend the black with the white, which unfortunately isn’t that visible due to my low quality camera.
  • What makes the look stand out is the purple cream eye-shadow which I applied under the lower lashes moving further out, under the black eyeliner.
  • Of course you cannot finish the look without the usual eyeliner and mascara

Products:

  • NYX Palette
  • Wjon purple cream eye-shadow
  • MAC gel liner
  • Benefit They’re real Mascara

F2

Cheeks and Lips

  • For the cheeks I used a little bit of bronzer (but not as much as it looks in the photo hehe which reminds me, to but a good camera) and then applied a reddish tone blusher.
  • As for the lips I used the natural pinkish colour lipstick

Well I hope you liked this look, it is a very simple look so you can try it easily at home. If you love Smokey eyes but want to try something different use a pop or colour under the lower lashes, believe me you will look great. Remember if you have small eyes, it is better to use coloured eyeliner, and make it very thin.

Fallen Angel – Make-up shoot

Hello lovely followers,

A month ago I had the opportunity to work with an amazing French Photographer Eva Ferriere. She wanted me to do a make-up for a “Fallen Angel” theme photo-shoot she had in mind. I was super excited to work on this shoot, being that I would let out my artistic skills.  The look I did was inspired by the gorgeous costume we had for the shoot, by Fabian Galea -PR for the Bugeja Costume Company in Gozo.

I did a couple of sketches as you can see below and let Eva decide which one she liked best. The final look is a bit dramatic but still has a certain elegance and flair to it. Basically it’s a mixture between dark and light, good and evil.

Sometimes in a fallen angel theme, it tends to be very dark and goth. I wanted something complete different, because even though she is fallen, there is an element of good in her.

The look consists of a golden brown mixture of eye-shadow which match the costume. Then I followed by applying the black liner creating a feather like effect, similar to the wings of an angel. Finally I applied some glitter liner in two colours gold and silver/green, these remind us of good element when combine with the dark black liner. Then added some final touches by adding small white rhinestones to  the edges of the feather-like-liner. The lips were left a little bit natural and a nice glow was given to the cheeks by using a pink blusher and highlighter.

Make1 make2

Check out some of the gorgeous photos by Eva  and the beautiful model Christine Zammit :

Overall I am really please with the final look, the images look great, and the make-up look really goes on well with the costume and backdrop.

Do feel free to contact me if you need me for a photo-shoot or any other special occasion. Let me know what you think about this look, would appreciate a thump up and like on facebook and do feel free to follow me through email.

Make Up Store – Nail Deco Caviar

When I was a little kid, I loved painting my nails, even-though it would probably be just another red colour. Back then in the 90’s, there wasn’t much you could do with your nails, a simple french manicure was a hit back then. Now we all have all sorts of colours available and to top that there are further decor available for your nails, like these caviar beads Make Up Store Caviar nail deco.

As I was given these caviar beads, I couldn’t wait to try them on. My first trial was quite a mess, I applied a nice layer of nail polish and then spear some of these beads on my nails, the result was pretty cool even-though I didn’t know I had to press them a little bit so that they stayed longer. The messy part was when I decided to do a top coat on the beads, which I highly suggest for your not to do, because the colour of the beads will vanish and they become all silver.

D1

So then I decided to do some research and I realized my mistakes and wished for a better result this time. I have to say it looked pretty good but after a while they were a bit of annoying me and slowly slowly they the beads vanished. Not sure if it’s because I would constantly touch the feeling of having a bunch of beads on my nails or because they cannot possibly stay long on the nails.

Pros:

  • The packaging is ideal for application however a bit annoying when it comes to putting the extra beads back in place
  • I love the coloured caviar beads and also that they are pretty small which makes them wearable, if they were bigger I wouldn’t wear them.
  • I can assure you that these beads will last you for a good time, if you conserve the beads during application. I personally use a small bowl while applying them.
  • It retails for 8.99 euros which isn’t pretty bad

Cons:

  •  Well the negative thing about this caviar deco is that they won’t last more than a couple of days, and it has nothing to do with the brand, but with the Caviar deco in general.
  • A suggestion for the Make up store brand is to do a second opening so that it would be easier to insert the beads back in the transparent packaging.

Will I ever buy this product again? To be honest I don’t think so, even-though I think it is fun to have them.

Do I recommend it? Why not, overall I think it is a fun concept and I think everyone should give them a shot

Pupa Milano – Vamp! Compact Eyeshadow

As you can notice I have been reviewing a lot of Pupa Milano Products, which unfortunately most of them I didn’t have the time to review before. However for once I am not late to review the recently launched series of 24 gorgeous shades of Vamp! Wet and dry and Compact eye-shadows, and I was lucky to get my hands on one of them. I chose this gorgeous intense navy blue colour with a matte finish.

VC1

Pupa Milano guaranteed a pure, intense and even color right from first application, and I have to say that they are completely right. I am simply in love with this colour, the texture and pigmentation is simply impeccable. It also has minor fall out and it has such a lovely smooth and soft texture, which is a pleasure to work with and blend.

VC2

There are 3 types of finished one of which is matte like the one I have, the other one is metallic and satin. It is also impressively long lasting, as I have used it both with and without a primer and it still lasted all day.  The packaging is simply cute, as I have mentioned in my other review as their packaging is precisely the same, the only difference is in the typography of the logo.  Also for anyone which suffers from any types of allergies, this compact is ophthalmologist tested for low risk of allergies. This beauty retails for €11.70 which is a good reasonable price, for it great quality and it also has a good amount of product that will take a while for it to end.

VC3

Pros:

  • Beautiful packaging, sleek and neat
  • Great quality and pigmentation
  • Minor fall outs
  • lasts all day
  • Worth every penny

VC4

Cons:

  • NONE- I actually have nothing negative to say about this product is simply delivers.

P

Will I ever buy this product again? Definitely, I would buy it in an instant if I ever run out, the color pay off is simply great.

Do I recommend it? Of course, I urge your to visit their local Pupa stand which are available in various Pharmacies, Perfumeries and Beauty Salons, they are totally worth it.
