Festive Season Make-Up Look No1

Hello lovely followers,

Since these festive season is here I wanted to post a couple of looks which could help you out for the upcoming parties, dinners and various festive celebrations. As a Malteaser we do take the Christmas celebrations pretty seriously, we always have parties, dinners or various gathering to attend to and it is important we look great each time (I’m not joking, its tiring :P)

So here is my first look for this December, it’s has some winter elements with a bit of gold highlight tones. As you can see from the image, I used brown and plum shades on the crease and inner corner. Then applied a nice metallic yellow creme shadow, which looks golden when applied in small amount. It creates the illusion of depth and contrasts in the eyes, which I absolutely love.

As for the lips I didn’t want to go for the usual red shade (which I love btw, but sometimes it’s nice to spice it up). I used this beautiful new lipstick I bought from M.A.C called Captive, its a lovely plum colour with some brown and red undertones.

HAUL -Make Up Revolution – First Impressions :D

When Make-Up Revolution was buzzed about a while ago, and I gave in to temptation and bought myself some their products. There was quite a hype going on recently about their products, being that they are shockingly cheap and of great quality. When I browsed through their website, I really didn’t know what I should get. I have seen some reviews to which seemingly none had anything bad to say about them, which made my shopping list more difficult to narrow down.

I would also like the mention the shipping is pretty fast for Malta; I ordered the make-up on a Friday and received the next Tuesday here. Well done Make-up revolution :D.

Haul1

So here is the list of products I got:

Haul2

AMAZING LIPSTICK IN BLACK HEART |REBEL WITH CAUSE |DEPRAVED |LADY CRIME |FELONY | THE ONE| NUDE :

I simply love these lipsticks, they cost just £1 and are quite pigmented for such a ridiculous cheap price.  They come in a cute black packaging with the colour of the lipstick on top. I got quite a mixture of colours, from Nude to bright and shocking ones. The creamy lipsticks stay on for about 3 to 4hrs before having the need to reapply, while the matte ones always last longer.  As I’ve expected the packaging can be quite flimsy, however I am not bothered at all, it just £1 after all.

Haul3

EYE DUST PURE PIGMENTS IN LEVITY  | SHAMEFUL|  FROLIC| HYSTERIA | ANTIC | STARLESS

I had a photo-shoot where I needed to use some pigments and I was surprised to find a whole range of them. They are pretty small, you have about 1.5g but they cost only £1. Yet they are super pigmented and look divine once swatched. I do intend to buy more of them eventually.

Haul4

COLOUR CHAOS EYESHADOW PALETTE:

Being that bright and shocking colours are not usually found in a palette, I was craving for some colour chaos. I’m in love with this palette, not only does it contain some beautiful bright and bold shadows, but all of them look the same on the skin as it doesn in the palette. I love the sleek black packaging which is surprisingly very sturdy and does not look like a £6 palette would usually have.

Haul5

BLUSH & CONTOUR PALETTE IN HOT SPICE  AND SUGAR AND SPICE:

These palettes are a must have, they are very pigmented, little goes a long way and you have every thing you need to highlight and contour your cheek bones. Each palette contains two highlighers, a couple of medium shades and darker bronzing shades. The Hot spice palette is more on the peachy side, while the Sugar and Spic is more on the pink and red tones. The packaging is sleep as the Eyeshadow palettes and they only cost £6 each. Simply amazing.

Haul6

ULTRA FACE BASE PRIMER:

This primer remind me of the Make Up Academy primer, it’s silicone based and it helps with the application of the foundation. I think it’s a pretty decent primer to use for everyday. I don’t think it lasts for 24hrs, it was to ambitious for Make up Revolution to say such a thing.

THE ONE FOUNDATION:

This was a bit of disappointment, I mean you cannot expect much for  £4 foundation but it ridiculously small and it comes in a liquid form which feels more like oily water than a foundation. Not to mentions that the packaging is like a very bad dupe for MAC face and body foundation. I hope they come up with a better foundation, it doesn’t have to be £4 , £6  would be just fine and hopefully with a good medium coverage this time

Haul7

PRO HYGIENE ANTIBACTERIAL BRUSH CLEANER:

This is my absolute favorite brush cleaner so far , it contains a generous 200ml and it costs only £5. I use it to give a nice clean to my powder brushes and it does the job very well. The only misfortune is that it arrived with a broken cap, other than that I simply cannot complain.

LIQUID EYELINER IN WATERPROOF AND ULTRA BLACK:

The eyeliners are my fav of all the products, this might sound crazy but I have been on the lookout for a good eyeliner for a while  which is not The NYX curve liner. Even though I love my NYX liner, it’s not so cheap and it lasts me for about a month or so, being that I use it a lot on myself and clients. So I was in need of a cheaper and good option, and I finally did both the liquid and pen are amazing, they last for a long time and they only vost £1.50.

BRONZER – BRONZED:

This is a lovely dark bronzer, applies heavinly and it is very pigmented, so don’t be hero and brush a lot of product unless you want to look like a Oomp Loompa :D.

So is the whole lot, Phew that was tiring 😛 , I do have another haul from Make-Up revolution which I should probably start preparing for you guys. I got some really great products, which I highly recommend except the foundation. Let me know what you think about  Make Up Revolution, especially if you tried them yourself. I love reading your comments.

Won a Nars Giveaway :D

Hey guys,
So last Monday I was contacted by the lovely Laura from Flora and she told me that I won her giveaway. I was so happy first of all because I don’t have anything from NARS and they are one of the best Make-up brands out there and because I never won a single thing hehe. I was jumping with joy 😀

Nars3
I received them later on this week and here is a sneak peak of the products. Btw do check Laura’s Blog Flora, I love her taste in make-up and reviews :).

Nars1 Nars2

I will post a review on these 2 products further on, so far I have swatcheD them and they are very pigmented but light at the same time, not chalky. I am very grateful of this giveaway which is why I cant wait to give back and host my own giveaway, however I would love to get 100 followers first. I already have some ideas of what to give, but would be open for suggestions from you guys.

E.L.F NEW Contouring Blush & Bronzing Powder

Hello Guys,

So today is a lovely Sunny day and it is thankfully a feast here in Malta so I don’t have work.  I really wanted to do a make up look today but the photo’s didn’t come great so I will do a better one next time. In the meantime I thought I should review one of my recent buys that I got from e.l.f.

DSC00918 DSC00920

The contouring blush and bronzing power come in a nice sleek black packaging which I adore. The packaging make you think is a very expensive high quality product when in reality it is fairly cheap. When I ordered this compact I thought It would be smaller in size, but I was fairly impressed how big it actually is.  I have the Turks & Caicos palette and there is also the colour in St.Lucia and Antigua which are also pretty nice.

DSC00922 DSC00924

The blushes are super nice, very pigmented and blend well onto the face. I just love the natural glow they give and how it looks on my cheeks. Some even say that they are similar to the Nars blushers which have the best blushers in the market. I wouldn’t say they are exceptional but they are great value for money. They only costs £3.75 which is very cheap compared to a single Nars blusher which you would buy for over £25.

I do recommend this product to anyone especially if you don’t want to spend a lot of money on Make-up. You get a good quality make up for such a cheap price. That is all for now guys

How to make your face look thinner

Hey guys,

I have been meaning to do this post for a while because some people do not know how to contour properly and the face looks either very pale or blend. The natural skin has different color shades that show the bone structure of the face. When we put foundation on, you kind of lose those natural shades and you have mostly a one tone colour. That is why contouring is important, so you can enhance your face bone structure. Your face will look  thinner and beautiful.

1

So here are some simple steps to help you out :

1. First you start with the nose. You need ,a 2 tone darker shade powder to use for your nose and place it on the sides of your nose as seen in the picture and then blend it out. I used a Rimmel blusher but if you want you can use a brown matte eye-shadow if you don’t have.

2

2. Then i used a dark bronzer to contour my cheeks. I used 2 bronzers from the e.l.f complete the look palette and with an angle brush, I applied it to my cheeks an then blended it out.

3

3. After doing cheeks, using the same angle brush applied the same bronzer around my head and underneath my jawline.

4

4. Finally I used a normal colour blusher and applied it to my cheeks and a bit around my face and blended out using a kabuki brush.

5

These are the simple steps you need to do, to make your face look flawless 🙂 I hope you liked this tutorial, keep posted for more 🙂
