Pupa Milano – Vamp! Compact Eyeshadow

As you can notice I have been reviewing a lot of Pupa Milano Products, which unfortunately most of them I didn’t have the time to review before. However for once I am not late to review the recently launched series of 24 gorgeous shades of Vamp! Wet and dry and Compact eye-shadows, and I was lucky to get my hands on one of them. I chose this gorgeous intense navy blue colour with a matte finish.

VC1

Pupa Milano guaranteed a pure, intense and even color right from first application, and I have to say that they are completely right. I am simply in love with this colour, the texture and pigmentation is simply impeccable. It also has minor fall out and it has such a lovely smooth and soft texture, which is a pleasure to work with and blend.

VC2

There are 3 types of finished one of which is matte like the one I have, the other one is metallic and satin. It is also impressively long lasting, as I have used it both with and without a primer and it still lasted all day.  The packaging is simply cute, as I have mentioned in my other review as their packaging is precisely the same, the only difference is in the typography of the logo.  Also for anyone which suffers from any types of allergies, this compact is ophthalmologist tested for low risk of allergies. This beauty retails for €11.70 which is a good reasonable price, for it great quality and it also has a good amount of product that will take a while for it to end.

VC3

Pros:

  • Beautiful packaging, sleek and neat
  • Great quality and pigmentation
  • Minor fall outs
  • lasts all day
  • Worth every penny

VC4

Cons:

  • NONE- I actually have nothing negative to say about this product is simply delivers.

P

Will I ever buy this product again? Definitely, I would buy it in an instant if I ever run out, the color pay off is simply great.

Do I recommend it? Of course, I urge your to visit their local Pupa stand which are available in various Pharmacies, Perfumeries and Beauty Salons, they are totally worth it.

Pupa Milano – Vamp! Wet and Dry Eyeshadow – 305

In the recent months I have been testing and simply loving all of the Pupa products. Now I am finally taking the time to give you a detailed review about their latest new eye-shadow beauties. Recently Pupa launched a series of 24 gorgeous shades of Vamp! Wet and dry eyeshadows, and I was lucky to get my hands on one of them. I chose this gorgeous navy blue, that has this pearl-like kind of metallic texture.

 VW1

This eyeshadow can be used both wet and dry, however I have only used it when dry up till now.  I have used this particular colour in a recent make-up look called Winter blues, so do check it out. I am simply in love with this colour, the texture and pigmentation is simply impeccable. Many have asked me about this shadow whenever I wear it. It also has little fall out and it has such a lovely smooth and “creamy” texture, which is a pleasure to work with and blend.

VW2

I also can’t express how cute is their packaging, which is very sleek and neat just how I like it .It also has a nice small applicator which can be handy for some, even though I still prefer to use my own eye-shadow brushes. This beauty retails for €11.70 which is a good reasonable price, for it great quality and it also has a good amount of product that will take a while for it to end.

VW3

Pros:

  • Beautiful packaging, sleek and neat
  • Great quality and pigmentation
  • Minor fall outs
  • lasts all day
  • Worth every penny

WW4

Cons:

  • NONE- I actually have nothing negative to say about this product is simply delivers.

Will I ever buy this product again? Definitely, I would buy it in an instant if I ever run out, the pigmentation is simply divine.

Do I recommend it? Of course, I urge your to visit their local Pupa stand which are available in various Pharmacies, Perfumeries and Beauty Salons, they are totally worth it.

Bourjois – Healthy Mix Serum – Foundation

As I was in London last September, like the beauty addict that I am, I hit the boots store and as I was looking around I came across the Bourjois section. Even-though we do have Borjois in Malta, I rarely have time to go to drug stores and look out for new cosmetics. I have been reading a lot about their foundation for a while now and there is quite the hype going on. However for me it’s really not worth the hype, not that I regret buying it but I really don’t understand why it is so popular.

H3

The only colour that is somewhat close to my skin tone is 52 Vanilla and is it still a really weird shade. I can’t quite put my finger on it, but it basically looks like a lemon tone cream colour, it matched my skin tone pretty well, even though I don’t like the yellow undertone.  This foundation gives a very light to medium coverage, I have to apply several layers in order to get the desired look and when I do that it can look be pretty cakey.

 H4

The things I like about this foundation is the scent, it pretty pleasant and refreshing. Even the packaging is pretty nice, even-though I tend to lose the red lid, many times, but the pump is very functional. I also like how radiant my face looks when I apply this foundation, but I would have wished that it covered more and that it lasted longer. On the packaging it says that is last for 16hrs, which is of course a lie, it last for about 4-5 hours max, with a primer and powder there is a probability that it lasts a little bit longer.

H2

Pros:

  • The scent is pretty nice
  • The texture is not too runny not too dry
  • Leavs the skin looking pretty radiant and fresh
  • Packaging is pretty nice and functional

H1

Cons:

  • Gives a very light coverage, you need to apply two layers or else it’s barely visible. However if you apply to much it can also be cakey.
  • Not suitable for an evening out.
  • I simply don’t like the yellow undertone, it is not for me.
  • It retails for about €16 which is a pretty decent price but you can honestly find cheaper foundations that do a much better job than this.
  • Be careful were you store the this foundation, because the lid can be easily broken or lost as the plastic is very thin.

Will I ever buy this product again? I don’t think so, the colour, texture and formula really does nothing for me.

Do I recommend it? If you have a similar skin colour to mine I wouldn’t recommend it, however you can still use it as an everyday make-up. I do recommend it to those that are asian or anyone that has a yellow undertone skin, I think this would be very suitable, however remember it still gives a very light finish.

Have you ever tried this foundation, what do you honestly think about it ? I love to read your comments. Thanks for stopping by

Purple Rain- Make-up look

Hey guys,

It is Saturday and another Make-up look is up :D. Not sure if you have noticed, but I have been seeing a lot of Purple and blue colours when it comes to eye-shadow looks, apart from the usual nude. I felt I should create a new completely different look with the use of these colours, by using contrast. From a very pale white to vibrant purples hues. I find this look is wearable in any season, from Winter to Spring and even Summer.

P2

Instructions:

  1. I always start every look with a primer then move on to the brows , give them a little bit of definition using a dark eyeshadow.
  2. Then I applied a metallic shimmery white colour onto the mid lid and followed with a puple dark colour on the inner and outer crease of the lid. I followed the dark purple with a lighter shade, which created this rainbow effect using only these 3 different colours.
  3. Finished of the look with the usual winged liner and mascara.

Products:

  •  Two faced eye-shadow primer
  • Inglot purple Colours
  • Vamp Eyeshadow- white
  • Barry M – Gel eyeliner

Pupa Diamond Eyeliner – Pupa Princess Limited Collection

I hope I am not too late to review this gorgeous eye-liner by Pupa Milano. This is one of the two eye-liners from the Pupa Princess Limited collection which should still be available nowadays, but not for too long.  The 001 is Diamond Mauve, a red undertone glittery eye-liner, however I have the 002 Diamond Green which of course has a light green undertone. The liner itself has this gel consistency, and it comes with a brush applicator that glides quite nicely on the lid. This is one of the best glitter liner I’ve tried so far, however if applied by itself, the result can be a bit scattered, and it doesn’t give that full straight line which I would have preferred (it can be achieved if you reapply it several times). It is quite common for a glitter liner to be a bit tricky to apply, which is why in general I am not a biggest fan.

L1

Recently though I have been loving these recent double eye-liner looks, which consists of having a strong black liner then another glitter liner on top of it. Being that the result is a bit scattered this look isn’t possible with this liner. Yet I do like to apply it on top of a regular liner. It modified a bit the final colour but it looks really nice and it is more wearable.  What also impressed me about this liner is that lasting power, which is very good, it lasted me for over 5 hours. As to price, this liner retails for €13.50 in Malta, which is not pricey but neither cheap. Being that it’s long lasting and that it will probably last you for a long time, I think it is a reasonable price.

L2

 Pros:

  1. Beautiful coloured glitter, goes on with any coloured eye-shadow
  2. Cute and elegant packaging, good for travelling
  3. I love it’s pencil brush applicator
  4. Very Long lasting

L3

Cons:

  1. The only thing I would like, if the result would be more linear than scattered. I would create some interesting make-up looks if it wasn’t, but it’s still nice to have.

Will I ever buy this product again? Not sure I am not much of a glittery person, but it is pretty nice to have in my make-up collection.

Do I recommend it? Definitely, especially if you like to spice up you make-up looks. It is pretty long lasting and great to wear for a night out.

Versace Spring Collection 2014 – Black, Lace and Rock and Roll

Recently I have become utterly obsessed with what’s new in the fashion world. I feel like a young kid again, looking at the beautiful gowns that I clearly couldn’t and still can’t afford, and steal some of the other designer idea and create outfits myself. Being an interior and product designer myself, I always looked at fashion as a beautiful way to express your inner self. One of my favourite designer has to be Versace, I simply love their elegant way of dressing, feminine but still edgy.

This spring their collection revolves around the black colour, laced fabric with a rock and roll attitude. There are also a bit of colour blocking with the use of flower patterns and even edgy designs. What I love about Versace also is how their designed are are form fitting, extenuating every womanly curve.

How to Get Healthy Skin

Hello guys :),

Today I want to talk about something that is very important to me and than unfortunately not many do know how, which is how to have a healthy skin. There is a huge misconception that to have a healthy looking skin, you need to spend a lot of cash on skin care but the truth is you don’t.

As I have mentioned in my New Year post (which you can view here),  I truly want to take care of myself and my health this year. I have been doing great so far, I am eating healthy, exercising  and doing my best to take care of myself. Apart from change in my weight, I have seen a huge difference in my skin, my pimples and redness has diminished and I have been loving applying make-up, cause I don’t need to use a lot of foundation nor concealer.  I think apart from taking care of your health it’s makes your skin look great and you will feel just as great.

Here are some great tips for you to get a healthy skin:

1 Decrease you sugar intake :

I would highly suggest you stop eating and sugary stuff, like Soda or candy. Contrary to popular belief, chocolate isn’t bad for you, it all the added sugars it has that harm your skin. So you can have a piece of dark chocolate once in a while but never exaggerate. It all about moderation.

2 Eat Healthy Food

People think healthy food is just salads, or you don’t eat much but that’s far from the truth. I eat plenty of food but I always spice it up with different recipes. There are so many healthy recipes you can try and believe me most of them taste better than all the junk there is out there. The change I have seen in my skin is simply amazing.  I also read that nuts and fish are really great for a healthy skin, because their oils clean out the bad oils you have in your skin.

3 Drink lots of water

A person should drink 2lts of water everyday, however if you don’t like to drink water make sure you drink at least 6 to 8 glasses of water. Don’t drink only when thirsty, you should drink water all the time even when not thirst because you might suffer from dehydration without even knowing. Apart from that water has a lot of benefits for your skin, I see a huge change in my skin and apart from that it gives me more energy too.

4 Exercise

Apparently sweating helps your skin, and the way you feel internally when you workout it will eventually show in your skin.  Make sure to wash you face after even if you just wipe it with a cloth. Choose something fun and stick to it, I love walking and running but I do love dancing once in a while too.

5 Experiment with Facial Cleansers

Find a cleanser that works for your particular skin type and stick with it. Also make sure you clean your face daily especially when you have make-up on.  Never sleep with your make-up on, if you are to tired to wash your face properly at lease use a facial wipe.

6 Stress less and workout more

Your body has natural defenses against stress, and you need to flush it out of your body as if it were a toxin or it will become physically visible. For instance recently I was a bit stressed and it was very cold  and a cold sore appeared on my nose :(, so if your stress relex with some music or else let all the stress out by working out.

 7 Don’t over wash

Once a day is more than enough, if you wash it too often it won’t help those natural good oils which we all have in our skin.

8 Avoid touching your face

I have a viscous habit to touch my face a lot , if i’m thinking, working or just bored and a lot of pimples occur. So avoid touching your face especially if your hands touches something else or they aren’t clean, there are germs everywhere.

I hope these tips were helpful, and if you follow these simple step, I do guarantee you will have a healthier looking skin and u will feel great. If you still have problems I do suggest you visit a dermatologist, especially if you have serious acne problems but these steps will definitely help.

XOXO

NYX – Trio Eyeshadow TS11-Orange/Copper/Peach

T1

A few months back, I was given this NYX Trio Eyeshadow palette to try out. These are pretty inexpensive and the colour selections they have are amazing.  I have the palette in Orange/Copper and Orange/Peach, which are basically copper selection of colours. These colours are perfect to use for everyday make up or even as a mid tone colour to use with other colours. The eyeshadow are housed in a slim black plastic casing and looks very similar to high brands packaging. It has also a small mirror and applicator, the applicator sponge looks pretty well, I still however prefer to use brushes but it’s still great to have when travelling.

T3

For the colours, most of the series runs from light (highlight), mid (crease), and dark (outer crease) however my palette seems to have oddly paired shades, because the darkest shade is a bit too light to apply on the crease.  The shadows are however very soft and powdery and have medium pigmentation, and looks better with a eyeshadow base underneath.

T4Pros:

  • Lovely sleek packaging with mirror and applicator
  • Good applicator
  • Good pigmentation, it will last for a good 4 to 5 hours.
  • Soft and powdery
  • Easy to apply and blendable
  • Not to shimmery, you can easily wear it for everyday to work
  • Inexpensive, it only retail for …

Cons:

  • This isn’t really a con but so you know, some trio are definitely better than other for colour payoff, so look up reviews or else check them out yourself at the NYX store at Sliema.

T2

Will I ever buy this product again? It is a probability however being that I love eye-shadows, I would go for bigger palettes but for someone that is a less make up geek than me, these would be perfect.

Do I recommend it? I do recommend these palettes, they are good quolity and perfect for travelling and also inexpensive
