Hey guys,

So I have been tagged by the lovely Nicole to write 20 random facts about me. I have no idea what to write to be honest, so I will try to think of something. 🙂

  1. The first time I put make-up on was when I had 12years old. My sister applied some lip-gloss and eye-shadow on me and I felt I looked so pretty and I wore make up ever since.
  2. My older sister thought me a lot about make-up and application, she even did make-up for small fashion shows in Malta.I used to tell my sister to do my make-up all the time, now I do it to her because I keep myself updated a lot and have a lot more make-up than she does. 😀
  3. When I started this make up blog, I was in a bad place. I had lost my feminine side, but I found it back again thanks to this blog.

  8.  I love tea, I must be half British or something because I have tea in all the seasons, yes even in Summer. I have from normal tea to green tea and I even had Moroccon.
  9. I must be the only person in the whole world that doesn’t like coffee. I tasted coffee once and I didn’t like it and never had coffee ever since.
  10. I am fluent in 3 languages, Maltese, English and Italian.
  11. Since I got my full time job, I have become a bit of a shopaholic but I am able to stop if I need to save up some money.

It’s all about the Lips

One of Summer’s make-up trends is wearing very simple and neutral eye-shadow while having lovely bright, bold colored lips. It is however very important to be careful with regards to what colors should you choose. Pink and Red colours look great on all skin tones but there are various types of pinks and reds, so make sure you are picking the right colour.

  • For fair skin: coral reds or dark reds with pink undertones.
  • For medium or olive skin: pink and cranberry shades, and brick reds.
  • For dark skin: reds with burgundy or brown tones.

Matte lipsticks are pretty much in vogue nowadays. I haven’t seen a catwalk model wearing a glossy a lipstick. I love a matte lipstick, it looks gorgeous on the lips without showing too much. I used to be scared wearing red lips when I was younger because I had the idea of it not looking good on me or making me look older. If you chose the right colour, it won’t make you older, and it won’t look bad.

This summer is enabling us to be creative and colorful with make-up, so let’s enjoy this time and do the best we can with it. 🙂

MUA ÂŁ1 Lipsticks – Review

Hey guys,

I hope you are all having a great week so far. Recently I was going trough my lipstick collection and realized that I haven’t reviewed and of the Make-up Academy Lipstick I bought last time. The thing that sold me immediately about these lipsticks is the price. I mean ÂŁ1 for a lipstick is just ridiculous so of course I bought some from their range. I honestly didn’t expect for these lipsticks to be of good quality but to my surprise they actually are.

Swatches

I am gonna be honest, not all of them were to my liking but I truly loved most of them. Some of the colours are really gorgeous and you are getting the quality similar to that of a drugstore brand. The consistency is pretty creamy and the finish is glossy. Some of the shades have got a rather chunky glitter in them, some of the shades are just pure pigment. I find that pigmentation varies from shade to shade, usually lighter shades are very sheer, but buildable and darker shades stain my lips in one sweep!

Shade12 Shade5 Shade3

The lasting power is not the greatest, but for the price, you just keep reapplying. They don’t fade in chunks or bits, they don’t dry my lips out too much, as you’d expect for a pound, and I actually find them rather moisturizing and that does not happen too often. I do recommend that you use lip balm or a lip salve after you a day of wearing these, as they sometimes tend to have a strange ‘post-wear’ effect on my lips, when the edges of my lips go a tad flakey, but as long as I slap on some effective lip balm, it’s all good. The scent of these lipsticks is like a strong vanilla, which might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but I love it.

Overall, I have to say, I’m in love with these. I understand that for some of you they might be more or less drying, you might not be the biggest fan of the lasting power, but they are worth giving a shot, as you just might be as lucky as I am and get on with them like I do. I definitely recommend these lipsticks and might actually buy some more next time.

Have you ever tried these lipstick? What do you think?

Red Bliss – Make-up Look

Hey guys,
Yesterday I had a small party of my niece’s Holy Communion, and I wore a nice red lace top, that I bought a while ago. I thought of matching my make-up to what I wore with a twist. Usually when you use a red colour as an eye-shadow it can look very dark and Gothic, to give it a lighter tone I used a very light and vibrant green on the inner corner of my eyes.

R2

List of products that I used:

  1. As a base colour I used the eye transformer palette by E.l.f which is the first shade of the palette that transforms into a whitish green.
  2. Then I applied the red in the middle of my lid blending it out into the crease using the Palette from E.l.f.
  3. For the crease I used a dark black also from E.l.f and blended it out with the red.
  4. Then I applied the light green/ lime colour on the inner crease and under my eye to give tone the whole look down. I applied it after the darker colours because when you are working with dark colours like red and black a light colour tends to fade away. So by applying it, as a last thing, it shows and lasts longer.
  5. Finally I applied a nice winged liner using the Golden Rose eyeliner and applied some Mascara using the L’oreal volume Mascara.
  6. As for the cheeks I used the E.l.f  baked brozer St.lucia, and M.a.c Breezy sheertone blusher.
  7. Last but not least for the lips I used the Catrice colour show lipgloss

Make up Trends this Spring

Hey guys,

As someone which loves make-up a lot, it is important to keep myself updated with the new styles and trends every season.  Spring is finally here and I did my research on what is in Vogue right now and what was seen on the runway.

Red Signals

At first, it seemed like spring would be a season of pale lips. At Prada, makeup queen Pat McGrath went for a matte crimson, outlining the outermost part of lips in red pencil that accentuated the shape of the mouth (tip: this makes lips look bigger and fuller). All told, the season’s rouges ranged from pinky-red at Missoni and Oscar de la Renta to the classic power red at Jean Paul Gaultier to the dark and dramatic black cherry at Jonathan Saunders, proving the enduring appeal of being in the red. Not much is going on with the eyes as it is very natural to extenuate the lips.

Eyeliner In Full Effect

Ever since the cat-eye trend hit last year, eyeliner has become a newfound essential.  It’s a downtown look that went a bit uptown at Chanel where makeup artist Peter Philips created striking contrast with his jet black liner by swiping on a platinum shadow over the lids, giving us inspiration for how to dress up a few simple strokes for day to night

Lush Lashes

60’s are back from the inky, Twiggy-like fringe seen at Gaultier to the curled and combed up look at Gucci, it’s time to have fun with your lashes this season. For the beauty adventurous, look to the chic-clumpy variety at VĂ©ronique Leroy, and our favorite, the heavy lashes offset with white liner—and nails to match—at Moschino.

The Bold And Beautiful Brows

Strong brows proved their staying power again. At Etro, makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury went for a “fresh, clean” nineties-inspired look, which she created by filling in with M.A.C.’s Eye Brow pencils in Fling and Lingering. Meanwhile EstĂ©e Lauder Creative Makeup Director Tom Pecheux enhanced the arches of stunners like Arizona Muse at Anthony Vaccarello with the EstĂ©e Lauders’s Automatic Brow Pencil Duo in Soft Brown. A handy pro tip: brush brow hairs down to find your natural shape, then fill in sparse areas with a pencil, using short, feathery strokes to shape and even out the contours of your brows.

Seeing Blue And Green

A Mediterranean influence swept the shows, as makeup artists dabbed their eye makeup brushes in shades of turquoise, jade and vibrant aqua. Even though the references supposedly ranged from the psychedelic sixties at Moschino Cheap and Chic to bejeweled butterflies at Gucci, the look wasn’t too wild or extreme for the every day wearer. Try a thin streak of green eyeliner seen at Stella McCartney or Kenzo, a saturated smear of sapphire on the base of lids like at Versus, or a color-blocked etching of royal blue or teal a la Fendi. And for those moments of all-out glamour, place a few sparkles around your eyes like a Gucci model if you dare.

These are the trends this season from bright lips to heavy eyeliner, big brows, fake lashes and colorful eyes. What I noticed is in every look is mostly natural but then they transform each look with something bold like red lips or a bright eye colour.

That is all for now guys but keep posted as I will posted something interesting later on 🙂

Leichner camera clear tinted foundation Review

Hey guys,
About a month ago I bought these 2 foundations from Liechner from a website that were having discounts on most of their cosmetics. They were sold for only ÂŁ3.50 and I read some good reviews about them from “Make up alley” and I said I should give them a try after all they are very cheap. I bought two different My skin is colours the porcelain which matched my skin colours perfectly and the beige, which is much darker than my skin color.

DSC00574

When I first put it on my face I realized that I didn’t need to use a lot of product because it really covers well. However I then realized that it made my face look very oily so I had to apply a lot of powder after using it. I also realized that this foundation is not good for me but it would be perfect for someone with a very dry skin.

blended in

In fact I gave it to my sister which has a dry skin and she loved the foundation a lot more than I did. So I might buy it again in the future if I have clients with very dry skin. Also another thing in favor of this foundation is the lovely smell it has, it like perfume for the face. In the end I do think it is a good foundation especially for anyone with dry skin and it is very cheap, so I recommend it for anyone with dry skin.

I hope you found this post helpful, if you are interested in buying them you can find them easily on ebay, amazon or chemistdirect. Keep posted for more.

Graphic Eyes

Hey guys,

I hope you are having a great weekend so far :). I honestly wish it never ends but that’s life, we have to work for the beautiful stuff  we want to own :P. So lately in the fashion shows and runways I have seen a lot of graphic eyes and I really wanted to try it out myself.

This photo is taken in the latest Marc Jacobs Fashion show. You can notice the heavy brows and the graphic eyes.

Marc Jacobs – Nars Matte eyeshadow in Bali

So I decided to have my take on graphic eyes and went further with the shape and the power of the black colour. The look I created is all about making the black colour and the shape noticeable.

If you like to do this look, it’s very simple. All you need:

  1. Is a very steady hand
  2. Black cream and liquid eyeliner
  3. Mascara

Well I hope you liked this look, keep posted for more 🙂

E.l.f High Definition Undereye Setting Powder Review

Hello Beautiful people,

So today I realized that I haven’t reviewed some other elf products which I got this Christmas including this under-eye setting powder. I got this under-eye setting powder because It is very dark under my eyes, so it always good to have some light powder to even it out. I have mixed opinion about this product, I think is overall good but there are some things that I would change.

DSC00502 DSC00503

So here are my Pro’s and cons:

Pros:

  1. It lightens underneath my eyes and makes my eyes pop.
  2. It also blends well with my skin and doesn’t make me skin look pale.
  3.  It is very cheap

Cons:

  1. I personally don’t like the packaging, because it is very small, you don’t have a lot of product and it is harder to apply.
  2. I don’t like the glittery texture of the powder.
  3. I also feel that the brush is not idea to apply the powder.
sorry for the blurry photo

sorry for the blurry photo

Overall it is a good product but to be honest I don’t think I will buy it again. I might as well buy the high definition powder from the studio line which I hear is pretty much the same minus the glitter and the small packaging.

That is all for now. Keep posted for more
