Pupa Milano – Viva Carioca Summer Collection – Long Lasting Eyeliner

Pupa Milano always keep surprising me with their season collections and their summer collection is no exception. Being that world cup was held in Brazil, it had to be inspired by its traditions and tropical colours. The collection is called Viva Carioca and it consists of some colourful Vamp, Duo eye-shadow, chubby glosses, like a doll luminys blushers, lasting colour gel duo and long lasting eyeliner.

If I could have the entire collection, believe me I would be a happy girl. The colours are simply beautiful, tropical, bold but still very feminine. I’ve been lucky enough to get a sample of the Long lasting Eyeliner in 004 Electric Green. Now something I want to mention before I continue with my review is that even though I got this product for free, my opinions about the product is solely mine. I am very honest in my reviews, so if I don’t like a product I am not going to lie and say how much I love it.

LONG LASTING EYELINER - Eyeliner Lunga Tenuta

So back to the eyeliner, something which I loved instantly as I swatched it on my hand, is the high pigmentation of the colour. Other than that I was impressed by how long it lasted on me, it took me a while to remove as well. Something I am not too fond of is the shimmery particles, I would have preferred if it was just a strong simple colour without the shimmer.

With regards to the packaging, being that I don’t have the actual one I truly cannot comment on that, however I do like the soft felt tip of the brush. These type of brushes are my favourite, because you can apply the liner pretty well and easily.

Apart from all that, all of their products are low risk of allergies, ophthalmologist tested, paraben and fragrance free.  If green is not your colour there a another 3 colours the 001 Flashes bronzer,002 Exotic Purple, and 003 Parrot blue

·         Great pigmentation

·         Long lasting

·         Nice brush, easy application

·         Low risk of allergies, ophthalmologist tested, paraben and fragrance free

  • Not too fond of the shimmer particles, I could do without them

Will I ever buy this product again? I might, I always wanted to try coloured eyeliners and now that I have I am thinking of getting more.

Do I recommend it? For sure, It is very pigmented for a coloured eyeliner, and very long lasting, so give it a shot. But if you don’t like shimmer eyeliners then go for something else.

Let me know if you tried their new collection out, love to get your opinion. The Pupa Viva Carioca Collection is found in most Pharmacies around Malta and Gozo.

Spring Make Up Trends 2014

Don’t you love Spring ? I do and a lot :D. Spring and Summer have to be my favorite seasons. Days are longer, the weather in beautiful and we can start wearing some  bright and bold colours <3

Here are some Trends which you can start wearing this Spring:

1 Natural

I have always believed that Make-up is there to either enhance our beautiful natural features or else to express ourselves trough it. On the run way and even photoshoots, very natural make-up is used. The skin has taken center stage, it all about having a glowing natural skin, nude eyes with a minimum of liner and mascara. A bit of blusher to give the a bit of life and a soft pink lipstick. I think this look is perfect for everyday and even for a lazy Sunday. My favorite products to create such a natural look : Vichy dermablend foundation, MAC Creme cup lipstick, MAC blusher Dollymix, Benefit They’re real mascara.

2 Orange Lips

When I was a little kid, I always loved wearing bright colours but I would never wear that any colours outdoors. Now I love wearing the occasional red and of course a lovely coraly orange colour.  I do suggest you find the right shade of orange that goes on with you skin colour, not every orange lipstick will look good on you.  For those with a fair skin complextion, I guesst a pinky orange with very little yellow in it, this way the shade complements the skin without crating a stark contrast and without highlighting the fairness of the skin, that would make you look to pale. As for those with a medium toned skin complextion like me, they can use the most classical, bright and bold colour. Almost all shades look good on someone with a medium tone except for those with blue eyes,  they should opt for something darker. As or thise with a warm and dark skin complexion, the ideal choice is a type of orange reminiscent of peach that brighten up the face and soften the greenish effect typical of Olive skin tones. Also beware of bright hues at it can be quite a make-up disaster. My Favorite Orange Lipstick : NYX Matte Lipstick – Indie Flick

The Harry Potter star looked flawless at the New York premiere on March 26

3. Blue Eyeshadow

I have always loved bold colours and blue eye-shadows have truly taken center stage in recent fashion shows and even on the catwalk. Eventhough I love to experiment with colours and eye-shadows, do be careful how you apply such colours, make sure you blend well and make sure such a colour look on your skin tone. I loved using such colours on look I did a while ago. My Favorite Blue eyeshadow: Pupa Milano Vamp! Compact eyeshadow 300

4 Cat eyes

Cat eyes are such an easy way to look sexy without the need to put too much make up on. Just apply a nice winged eyeliner, and some mascara and your ready to go. If you have beautiful eyes there is really no better way to flaunt them.  There are various ways to create this winged liner,  if you have small eyes don’t do a very thick liner, leave it thin and simple. If you have big eyes, any  both winged liner will look good on you both thin or thick. My Favorite eyeliner has to be the NYX The Curve eyeliner.

5 Think Gold

In spring we slowly start getting some colour and there is no colour that looks better on a bronzed skin than some gold. Gold for me screams beach-tan-spring-summer <3. My favourite gold eyeshadows are from the Naked 3 Palette by Urban Decay

6 A pop of Green

I have to admit I rarely wear green, I don’t have any green clothing apart from a shirt here and there, and it’s not one of my favorite colors. Yet I have to admit that it’s a great colour for anyone with very light eyes and complexion, I think on me looks a bit silly on its own but with blended with a mixed array of colours it can look pretty good.  My favorite Green shadows have to be from the NYX eyeshadow set palette.

What is your favorite Spring trend? Would love your opinion down below 🙂

Happy Spring

NYX Studio Perfect Photo Loving Primer – Review

Hey guys,

So a while ago I got a few items from Chemist Direct and I thought of getting a new primer. My favorite M.A.C primer will soon some to an end so I needed a cheaper replacement. I have heard a lot of good things about the NYX primers that I thought I should give it a go. Apparently they have 3 different primers the normal white primer, the green one is for anti-redness while the purple one is for anti-dull skin and colour balance. Being that I do have some red spots on my face, I bought the green one.

20130723_080554 20130723_080615

I hate to say that this product did nothing for me. I had such great expectations for this product, but the redness didn’t vanish nor diminish.  It does have a silky feel to it and definitely makes the foundation application easier but other than that nothing.  It also does take a while sink in and I didn’t feel any difference on my pores. I really hate to do bad reviews but unfortunately this has to be one of them. I wish there was something that I really liked about this product but I didn’t. I still use it as a base at times, because I hate wasting products, but  unfortunately it do much for me.

Overall I’m really not in love with this product. I don’t think I will repurchase it again, I was expecting to at least diminish the redness I have, but It didn’t. To end on a good note, NYX do have great quality products but unfortunately this product is not one of them. Hopefully they will come up with a better primer in the future.

Will I ever buy this product again? I don’t think so, it really did nothing for my redness nor as a primer itself unfortunately.

Do I recommend it? Not really, however I they do have an HD primer which looks pretty good but I haven’t tried it yet.

Make up Trends this Spring

Hey guys,

As someone which loves make-up a lot, it is important to keep myself updated with the new styles and trends every season.  Spring is finally here and I did my research on what is in Vogue right now and what was seen on the runway.

Red Signals

At first, it seemed like spring would be a season of pale lips. At Prada, makeup queen Pat McGrath went for a matte crimson, outlining the outermost part of lips in red pencil that accentuated the shape of the mouth (tip: this makes lips look bigger and fuller). All told, the season’s rouges ranged from pinky-red at Missoni and Oscar de la Renta to the classic power red at Jean Paul Gaultier to the dark and dramatic black cherry at Jonathan Saunders, proving the enduring appeal of being in the red. Not much is going on with the eyes as it is very natural to extenuate the lips.

Eyeliner In Full Effect

Ever since the cat-eye trend hit last year, eyeliner has become a newfound essential.  It’s a downtown look that went a bit uptown at Chanel where makeup artist Peter Philips created striking contrast with his jet black liner by swiping on a platinum shadow over the lids, giving us inspiration for how to dress up a few simple strokes for day to night

Lush Lashes

60’s are back from the inky, Twiggy-like fringe seen at Gaultier to the curled and combed up look at Gucci, it’s time to have fun with your lashes this season. For the beauty adventurous, look to the chic-clumpy variety at Véronique Leroy, and our favorite, the heavy lashes offset with white liner—and nails to match—at Moschino.

The Bold And Beautiful Brows

Strong brows proved their staying power again. At Etro, makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury went for a “fresh, clean” nineties-inspired look, which she created by filling in with M.A.C.’s Eye Brow pencils in Fling and Lingering. Meanwhile Estée Lauder Creative Makeup Director Tom Pecheux enhanced the arches of stunners like Arizona Muse at Anthony Vaccarello with the Estée Lauders’s Automatic Brow Pencil Duo in Soft Brown. A handy pro tip: brush brow hairs down to find your natural shape, then fill in sparse areas with a pencil, using short, feathery strokes to shape and even out the contours of your brows.

Seeing Blue And Green

A Mediterranean influence swept the shows, as makeup artists dabbed their eye makeup brushes in shades of turquoise, jade and vibrant aqua. Even though the references supposedly ranged from the psychedelic sixties at Moschino Cheap and Chic to bejeweled butterflies at Gucci, the look wasn’t too wild or extreme for the every day wearer. Try a thin streak of green eyeliner seen at Stella McCartney or Kenzo, a saturated smear of sapphire on the base of lids like at Versus, or a color-blocked etching of royal blue or teal a la Fendi. And for those moments of all-out glamour, place a few sparkles around your eyes like a Gucci model if you dare.

These are the trends this season from bright lips to heavy eyeliner, big brows, fake lashes and colorful eyes. What I noticed is in every look is mostly natural but then they transform each look with something bold like red lips or a bright eye colour.

That is all for now guys but keep posted as I will posted something interesting later on 🙂
