NARS – Blusher – Deep Throat

Hey guys,

I guess it’s time to review my second product I got from Nars. If you haven’t seen my other review for the Nars bronzing powder Laguna go here.

I have only tried these two products from NARS and yes I fell in love with them. NARS products are very expensive for me but they are completely worth the price, you are really buying a high quality product. Deep Throat is a beautiful middle tone between peach and pink, it has this slight shimmer which is like a more like a highlighter it gives this lovely natural glow to the cheeks. Being that at the moment I have this nice tan I have to apply a little more product so that the product is actually visible but I think in winter it would look amazing.

The beauty of it that it’s so natural and you can wear it for every occasion if it’s for daytime or night time. It also doesn’t conflict with any other makeup, or wardrobe, it is very not distracting. NARS also have a popular blusher called Orgasm, which is this quite similar but more on a pink tone than Deep throat and much more shimmery, because of the shimmer Deep throat is somewhat preferred more by customers.

The blush is very much buildable, but I don’t know if anyone darker than medium complexion would be able to enjoy this blush, because it is pretty sheer on the skin. I am quite light in general, so I actually prefer the sheerness because I don’t have to apply to carefully, or spend much time blending out the color.

I am slowly falling in love with this brand, and am so happy that I had the opportunity to have these babies :). Well that is all for now guys, keep posted for more as one of my family members might actually be on this blog 😀

Shine On- Award

Hey guys,

So this week I was nominated by the lovely Mammu from Mammu Likes. Do check her out, she is an Estonian Beauty with a sense of style and fashion tips. Thank you so much for this Award, it means I am doing something right with this blog 🙂

Basically I have to mention 7 things about myself an nominated others for this award. Well I do hope I don’t bore you to that, so here we go:

1. Well something that people don’t think when they see me, is that I was quite a tomboy when I was a kid. I used to hang out with boys, play football and had even my cut out short. I was a carefree child and didn’t care what people said about me.

2. Nowadays I still keep that tomboyish side of me when it comes to handy work. I am quite a handy person, if there something that needs fixing, I just find a way to do it. I painted my room on my own and decorated it by myself and maybe with a little help from relatives.

3. I am quite good when it comes to building things with wood. At the institute of Art and Design we had an opportunity to try a particular workshop and i chose the wood workshop.  I carved wood, used the wood turning, created a lot of designs using wood and I love it.  I learned a lot when I was working with wood which actually helps a lot when it comes to my  job as a designer in office furniture.

4. Apart from my manly side, when I was younger I used to love designing clothes. I had a bunch of sketchbooks full of designs. I used to love watching the runway shows, with my sketchbook in my hands and drawing different outfit ideas that were probably fashionable at that time.

5. When I was a student I couldn’t afford buying new clothes, I had to go by with what I had. So I used to modify my clothes, so they always looked fashionable. I would create outfits out of nothing and when I went out I made sure I always looked good. I remember once I was given an ugly dress, and with the help of my mother which used to be a seamstress, changed it into this completely different and gorgeous dress.

6. To some extent blogging is my therapy. I love blogging because it reminds me to always enjoy the thing you have in your life 🙂 to always take care of yourself and be beautiful.

7. Some of you may know this already by I have another blog called “Work in Progress” which is about my weight loss journey. If you would like, you can check it out here.

So here are my Nominees in no particular order:

That is all for now 🙂 keep posted

MUA £1 Lipsticks – Review

Hey guys,

I hope you are all having a great week so far. Recently I was going trough my lipstick collection and realized that I haven’t reviewed and of the Make-up Academy Lipstick I bought last time. The thing that sold me immediately about these lipsticks is the price. I mean £1 for a lipstick is just ridiculous so of course I bought some from their range. I honestly didn’t expect for these lipsticks to be of good quality but to my surprise they actually are.

I am gonna be honest, not all of them were to my liking but I truly loved most of them. Some of the colours are really gorgeous and you are getting the quality similar to that of a drugstore brand. The consistency is pretty creamy and the finish is glossy. Some of the shades have got a rather chunky glitter in them, some of the shades are just pure pigment. I find that pigmentation varies from shade to shade, usually lighter shades are very sheer, but buildable and darker shades stain my lips in one sweep!

Shade12 Shade5 Shade3

The lasting power is not the greatest, but for the price, you just keep reapplying. They don’t fade in chunks or bits, they don’t dry my lips out too much, as you’d expect for a pound, and I actually find them rather moisturizing and that does not happen too often. I do recommend that you use lip balm or a lip salve after you a day of wearing these, as they sometimes tend to have a strange ‘post-wear’ effect on my lips, when the edges of my lips go a tad flakey, but as long as I slap on some effective lip balm, it’s all good. The scent of these lipsticks is like a strong vanilla, which might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but I love it.

Overall, I have to say, I’m in love with these. I understand that for some of you they might be more or less drying, you might not be the biggest fan of the lasting power, but they are worth giving a shot, as you just might be as lucky as I am and get on with them like I do. I definitely recommend these lipsticks and might actually buy some more next time.

Have you ever tried these lipstick? What do you think?

Red Bliss – Make-up Look

Hey guys,
Yesterday I had a small party of my niece’s Holy Communion, and I wore a nice red lace top, that I bought a while ago. I thought of matching my make-up to what I wore with a twist. Usually when you use a red colour as an eye-shadow it can look very dark and Gothic, to give it a lighter tone I used a very light and vibrant green on the inner corner of my eyes.

List of products that I used:

  1. As a base colour I used the eye transformer palette by E.l.f which is the first shade of the palette that transforms into a whitish green.
  2. Then I applied the red in the middle of my lid blending it out into the crease using the Palette from E.l.f.
  3. For the crease I used a dark black also from E.l.f and blended it out with the red.
  4. Then I applied the light green/ lime colour on the inner crease and under my eye to give tone the whole look down. I applied it after the darker colours because when you are working with dark colours like red and black a light colour tends to fade away. So by applying it, as a last thing, it shows and lasts longer.
  5. Finally I applied a nice winged liner using the Golden Rose eyeliner and applied some Mascara using the L’oreal volume Mascara.
  6. As for the cheeks I used the E.l.f  baked brozer St.lucia, and M.a.c Breezy sheertone blusher.
  7. Last but not least for the lips I used the Catrice colour show lipgloss

That’s all for now guys, I hoped you enjoyed this make-up look.

Thank you for following and keep posted for more 🙂

Kate Winslet – Harper’s Bazaar – Inspired Look

Hey guys,

I wanted to do another look for you guys which is perfect for this spring. Something simple yet effective. I was looking trough some magazines and photoshoots and I fell in love with the simplicity of Kate Winslet photo-shoot. The make-up look is very easy to do, it’s all about the eyeliner basically. The photos are in black and white so it is difficult to really know what colors they really used on her but the shadows can give an idea.

I usually do step by step instructions but this look is so easy to do so I will mention what products I used.

  1.  Mac Prep and prime primer
  2. Make up store -satin eye-shadow – white shimmer
  3. Elf palette light brown on the lid, and a darker brown on the crease
  4. WetnWild creme eyeliner
  5. E.lf party pink lipstick
  6. E.l.f contouring blushers
  7. Eva Garden mascara

That is all for now, I hope you liked this look, Keep posted for more and thank you for following 🙂

Make-Up Detox

Hey guys,

Recently I just received 2 packages with some beauty products that I had bought a while ago, and I realized that I really need to take a break this month from purchasing any more make-up. I have products to review for over than a month I think and it would do my good.

Last month I was asked to do a wedding for June, so I bought a bunch of tools and make up that I needed. I went somewhat overboard hehe. I need to enjoy all of the products that I got and truly test each one of them.

Wish me luck and hopefully will manage to stop myself from buying any more make up and focus more on creating new make up looks 🙂

M.A.C Sheertone Shimmer Blush – Breezy

Hey guys,

My Mac reviews are soon coming to an end as I only have the last 2 to review. I will defiantly try to buy some other products from MAC so I can really try their full range of make up. So now I will review the fabulous Sheer tone Shimmer Blush in Breezy. I usually do the pros and cons of every product but there aren’t any cons for me to say about this product.

DSC00803 I wanted a nice blusher which is in between pink and red, and the breezy colour was the right choice. It is a perfect color to wear in winter however can also look nice in summer if you use it as a contouring blusher. It is really soft, blend-able and pigmented. The blusher isn’t that shimmery and it has more like a glow to it.  The staying power is very good of this blusher and it looks just lovely when swatched. What I like is that is when I apply it with my brush not a lot of product comes of like some other cheap blushers I have, but enough to apply.  Also the packaging is very nice simple and sleek with a transparent lid, so you can see the color of the blush.

DSC00809I think I covered all the important facts of this product. I love this blusher and I will definitely purchase again and maybe some other colors of the mac collection. I do recommend this blusher to anyone as if looks good on fair skin and even on dark skin, as I have seen from other reviews.

That is all for now, keep posted for more and thank you for following

Outfit and Make-up of the Week

Hey guys,
Yesterday I had a lovely school Reunion dinner with my ex class mates from the Institute of Art and Design and I thought I show you the outfit I wore. I wanted to wear something which is both classy, elegant with a mixture of something fun and casual. I realized that recently I have a lot black and gold tops and t-shirts. I like the mixture between something bright and something dark.

I love the mixture of something bright and something dark

  • Gold and Black top -Tesco
  • Black cardigan -Tesco
  • Trousers – Dorothy Perkins
  • Shoes – Dorothy Perkins
  • Jewelry – Promod and Peacocks

When it comes to make-up, I basically matched it to my clothes, which is gold and black. However I still added some other colors to the mix like yellow and beige.  As for the lips I wore a lovely light pink from nyx.

I hope you liked this look, feel free to tell me your opinions and comment down below. Thank you for following
