Christmas 2014 – Make-Up Look

Hello dear readers,

A while ago before Christmas I did this make- up look for you guys, but due to some technical issue, I couldn’t post it, neither on my blog nor on Facebook. Thankfully the issue is solved now, but unfortunately it made me post this look a bit later.

Before I start describing the look, I do hope you had a lovely Christmas with your loved ones and fabulous start to the New Year. I spent Xmas eve with my best friends, and Xmas day with my crazy family. While NYE was spent with friends once again but in another beautiful country, that of Italy. It was truly a lovely start to the New Year, even-though I wished there were a couple of people with me in Italy, which I truly love and care about, yet I carried them in my heart.

I want to take this moment, to thank all of you which have been following my blog and my work, and have believed in my talent, as a make-up artist and blogger. Always keep in mind, I am still learning and improving and would appreciate your feedback in everything I do.

  • The look is quite simple because I haven’t used a variation of colours per se. The eyes are a mixture of light to dark brown colours while for the lips I chosea nice blood-red colour with a tint of purple. I felt that in 2014 we have truly evolved when it comes to wearing bright and bold lipsticks, from Lorde to Beyonce, this was the year where we pushed the extremes with make-up.
  • The blush is a soft red colour mixed with a bit of bronzer to highlight cheek bones.

  • NYX box of eyeshadows
  • Revlon eyeliner
  • Maybelline Mascara
  • Pupa Milano Autumn Collection -Paris Experience- 002
  • MAC Breeze blusher
  • Make Up Revolution – Bronzer

Even-though Christmas has passed this look is pretty much wearable this winter, so feel free to have a try at this look and please tag me on instagram or facebook if you did so :).

Lost of love

NYX Stay Matte but not Flat Powder Foundation

My intent to purchase this powder was based on the mixed reviews I have been reading about it, apart from the actual need of a powder myself. After using it for a couple of months I completely understand why some love it and some don’t. I have honestly loved this powder because it is perfect for my oily t-zone, it has a lovely finish and stays on for quite a while.

The reason behind the bad reviews is because people try to use it as a foundation, which I completely understand being that it’s said to be a powder foundation. This is not a foundation but just a setting powder, and you need to apply a foundation underneath or else it won’t stay on your face for a long time. I bought it in the natural colour, which matches my skin colour perfectly, especially in winter. I still use it in summer especially under my eye over my concealer.

I wish to excuse myself for not providing my own images for this product but being that I have used this powder a lot, it’s not in the best shape so here are some images taken from the net.

I am a huge fan of this powder, I carry it with me everywhere it’s probably the best powder the price it sells for which is similar to that of any drugstore brand. The texture is fine and silky, great for oily skin, but it you are super oily I would go for something different, because it has a medium coverage. However if you have a normal combination skin, this is perfect.
The packaging is lovely, durable, very sleek and MAC looking; the only think that is a bit annoying is the tiny little plastic tab that you have to use to get the sponge compartment. But other than it’s definitely a must have.

  • Sleek, durable packaging
  • Formula with medium coverage, fine and silky
  • Long lasting
  • Good Pricing

  • The lid for the sponge compartment to tiny to open

Will I ever buy this product again? I will for sure, being that it’s soon coming to an end (because I use it every day), I need a couple more of these.
Do I recommend it? Definitely, it’s a good quality product, and perfect for anyone with a combination skin.
Rating: 4/5
Would love to hear from your opinion, if you ever tried this product

MAC – Cremesheen – Creme cup lipstick

Being a make-up artist, it is vital to have the basic coloured lipstick. I was in the search for a beautiful nude colour to use on clients especially for brides, and as I saw the Creme cup lipstick by MAC I knew I had to have it. When it comes to lipstick, I think no one beats MAC they last for a long time and have simply beautiful pigmentation. I have to admit that the matte lipsticks last longer than the Cremesheen but then again the cremesheen aren’t so bad themselves.

The only factor which makes the sheen ones better than the Matte lipsticks is that they are creamy and feel really nice on the lips. While the matte ones can be a bit to dry. The colour is a pinkish nude colour which is why looks pretty nice on anyone with light skin. If you have a medium or dark skin colour I would opt for other colours, however on most Mediterranean skin it worked just fine.

Overall I think this is a must have, I used it mostly on myself if I am doing a Smokey eye look, or else if I’m wearing an overall natural make up look.

  • Beautiful sleek black packaging as all other MAC lipsticks
  • Creamy texture
  • Long lasting between 4 to 5 hours
  • Worth every penny

  • The only con I can think of is that it might be a bit pricy for some people but it’s truly worth every penny. So there isn’t any negative really.

Well I hope you liked the review, let me know what you think about the products. Show some love by liking and sharing my page

Make Up Store – Gloss Lips in Cleo

A while ago I visited the awesome Make Up Store at Tigne Point Sliema, and I was given this gorgeous lip gloss. I have to admit that I wasn’t wearing a lot of lip glosses lately but slowly after seeing my Idol Beyonce wear this bold glossy red lip-gloss in her latest music video Partition looking sexy than ever, I knew I had to give them another shot. Cleo is a beautiful red lip gloss, very pigmented and surprisingly opaque. It can be worn on it’s own or on a top of a lipstick looks exceptional.

It has quite a sticky texture, but after a while the stickiness reduces and it becomes a bit creamy. Apart from being glossy, it also has small shimmery particles in the colour itself, which make the lips look pouty and glossy. As to longevity, I do find it to be pretty average, I do need to apply the gloss after a few hours. But overall I do like it, and I am glad I have it in my collection :).

  • Beautiful Pimented opaque lip gloss
  • The packaging is pretty handy to apply and travel with
  • average longevity
  • reasonable pricing

  • Not a bit fan of stickiness of this lip gloss, because for some reason I always end up with hair stuck to my lips

Will I ever buy this product again? Probably, even if I am not much of a lip-gloss person, I truly like wearing this lipgloss and I love it soft feeling.

Do I recommend it? Definitely, it’s a good quality product. If you manage to get this well lucky you but it not do check out some of their other lip glosses as the quality and formula is pretty similar.

Would love to hear from you guys your opinion 🙂

Flawless – Make-Up Look

Hey guys,

A while ago I bought the “Flawless” tshirt from Beyonce’s new Album clothing line. As most you already know I am quite a huge Beyonce fan and as a Woman and quite a  feminist I am really in love with her song called Flawless.  The song Flawless is about us women believing in our true natural beauty and to always work to better ourself and not to please men but to please ourselves. With that motto in my head, I put the shirt on, wore some fancy jewellery and wore a fearless and “flawless” make up look. Some of you might have thought I would do a more natural look, because indeed we are all beautiful naturally. But nothing makes me feel more flawless than an edgy make-up look, cause in the end we should feel free to express our self the way we like. 🙂

The look is very edgy, smoking but still feminine, check out my step by step instructions below:

  • For the eyes I basically did a normal Smokey eye look with a twist underneath. I started off with the black eye shadow onto the crease and blended it out on the mid lid with a beige/white colour. Very easy and simple to do.
  • I also used a brown colour on the crease to blend the black with the white, which unfortunately isn’t that visible due to my low quality camera.
  • What makes the look stand out is the purple cream eye-shadow which I applied under the lower lashes moving further out, under the black eyeliner.
  • Of course you cannot finish the look without the usual eyeliner and mascara

  • NYX Palette
  • Wjon purple cream eye-shadow
  • MAC gel liner
  • Benefit They’re real Mascara

Cheeks and Lips

  • For the cheeks I used a little bit of bronzer (but not as much as it looks in the photo hehe which reminds me, to but a good camera) and then applied a reddish tone blusher.
  • As for the lips I used the natural pinkish colour lipstick

Well I hope you liked this look, it is a very simple look so you can try it easily at home. If you love Smokey eyes but want to try something different use a pop or colour under the lower lashes, believe me you will look great. Remember if you have small eyes, it is better to use coloured eyeliner, and make it very thin.

Beyonce Partition – Inspired Make-Up Look

If you know me, you would probably know that I am a major Beyonce fan. She is truly an amazing singer and performer and now with her new visual album I couldn’t but steel some of her looks. Partition is definately one of the sexiest song in her new album and whenever I hear it, It truly gives me good vibes, I feel sexy and powerful. The make-up reflects all of this femininity and sex appeal, which is why I wanted to try it out myself.

Of course I am not beyonce but hopefully my look will help you to do something similar yourselves, if you want to be a little bit daring. The look its pretty simple, she has some bold black liner and smokey eyes that blend out on the crease and some glossy red lips. The look is not exactly as hers in the photo above but its my inspiration, but do see the photo below of the look I was mostly going for. Keep reading for further information 🙂

(I do apologies for the low quality of the pictures, I do hope to invest in a professional camera in the future 🙂 )

  • I always start with a primer however right after I chose a black eyeshadow and lined my eyes like applying an eyeliner and blended it out upwards towards the crease
  • Then I used a creme colour on the crease to blend the black shadow and some light shade under the brows.
  • I also highlighted the brow and then applied some liner and mascara. I don’t think you would need any fake lashes with this look due it its dark shadow, but you can always do so. Something I learned recently is that her make-up artist rarely applies fake lashes on her.

  • Two face eyeshadow primer
  • Fraulein 38 nude eyeshadow palette
  • Make Up store Microshadow in desert and white
  • NYX the curve eyeliner
  • Revlon Scandalous eyes Mascara

Cheeks and Lips:

  • As for the cheeks I used a bit of bronzer to highlight the cheek bone and then a nice pink toned blusher on the cheeks. Finally I applied a little bit of highlighter on the T zone to give a nice glow to the skin. I find that with such a dark look a highlighter is very useful to balance things out.
  • With regards to the lips I used first the matter red lipstick then on top of it a lovely red lipgloss.

  • ELF Baked bronzer
  • Make Up store blusher in Glam Rose
  • MAC Ruby Woo
  • Make Up Store in Cleo

My make up is mostly inspired by this look however it is very similar to the first image of Beyonce however the shadow is a bit different.

Well I do hope you like this look, I would really appreciate a thump up or like trough facebook. Also feel free to comment down below I do love hearing your opinion 🙂

Gluten Free Make-up

Hello guys,

This post is slightly different from anything iv’e ever done but I think it is very important for anyone to know, especially make-up artists and anyone that is gluten intolerant. Recently I talked to an old friend of mine from school, and as we talked about how things have been with us for the past 2 years, I found out that she is Gluten intolerant. There are plenty of people which are gluten intolerant, and it’s a pretty normal thing, however in order to live a healthy life they have to avoid any food which contains gluten, like bread, pasta and much more.

Being that this type of disease it revolved around the food it is eaten, little did I know that they also have to be careful what type of make-up to use. Some people report not getting 100% relief just by going gluten-free in their diet and it is possible to ingest gluten from some of the cosmetic products we uchcse. Luckily there are cosmetics companies who make quality gluten free cosmetics and are aware of the risks of gluten.

Check out some of the cosmetics which are suitable for everyone including gluten intolorent:

Ecco bella is an american make-up company that have a range of gluten-free makeup, skin care, hair care and fragrances. Apart from that they have a variety of vegan product and well as cruelty-free, non-comoedogenic and paraben-free products. These are available in Taiwan, Denmark and Canada, however they also do international shipping on their on website, so do check out.

2. Bare Minerals

I have heard of bare mineral about a year ago and I have always wanted to try them out. Knowing that their product are gluten-free gives me an extra reason to do so. However they have a disclaimer on their website stating that they cannot promise that each ingredient in their products was processed in a gluten-free environment. Unfortunately they do not ship to Malta on their own website , but there are available from the UK website Chemist Direct.

3 Afterglow Cosmetics

Afterglow is the first certified gluten-free makeup line by the Gluten-Free Certification Organization. They have tons of gluten-free beauty products on their website however I am not sure if it is available for shipping in Malta but it definitely available in Canada, for more info check out their website here. Some of their known favorites include organic blush, lip gloss and mascara.

 4. Zuxu Luxe

Zuxu Luxe is another gluten-free makeup company that specialized in creating luxury cosmetics. It is said that the collection were inspired by the European spas tradition, all of products are vegan, cruelty-free, gluten-free, corn-free and their ingredients are all natural.  Also the packaging is eco friendly. All of the ingredients are natural, such as spring water, herbs and vitamins as well as rare and exotic essential oils with sophisticated, fresh colors designed for women in the know. Just like at the European spa, ZuZu Luxe will make your face look healthy and refreshed. They don’t have their own website but they are available trough various sites one of which is called The Nature of Beauty, check it out.

6. Joelle Cosmetics

Joelle Cosmetics, which is also known as My Mineral Glitters, are also celiac friendly and have the largest gluten-free makeup and skin care solutions store! I have browes their online store and they have tons of option and not only make-up, they even have skin care, hair care and even products for the baby.  Not sure if they do ship to Malta because their website is not so clear but you can try to contact them and hopefully they will. Check their website here.

7. Monave Mineral Make-up

Monave makes gluten-free, cruelty-free, 95% vegan and organic makeup that is made of only the highest quality mineral makeup. Choose from a variety of gluten-free lipsticks, concealers, eye shadows and skin care products. Whether your skin is dry, oily or anywhere in-between, Lily Lolo makeup will give you a light, flawless and seamless finish without clogging or irritating. The awesome things is that they are available in the Uk and Malta, from their own website  and even from CrueltyfreeMalta, check them out :D.

9.LCN Nail Polish

LCN has a wide range of nail polishes that are also gluten free, vegan, and free from the big 5 toxic chemicals which are found in most polishes. The are also pretty reasonable in pricing being that an 8ml bottle the costs about €4.15 at the Melita Skin and beauty Clinic in Malta. They have a good 4 to 5 days wear before it chips and they have new colours every season. They are available in various outlets including Steph Luarie Melita skin and beauty clinic more info here.

Spring Make Up Trends 2014

Don’t you love Spring ? I do and a lot :D. Spring and Summer have to be my favorite seasons. Days are longer, the weather in beautiful and we can start wearing some  bright and bold colours <3

Here are some Trends which you can start wearing this Spring:

1 Natural

I have always believed that Make-up is there to either enhance our beautiful natural features or else to express ourselves trough it. On the run way and even photoshoots, very natural make-up is used. The skin has taken center stage, it all about having a glowing natural skin, nude eyes with a minimum of liner and mascara. A bit of blusher to give the a bit of life and a soft pink lipstick. I think this look is perfect for everyday and even for a lazy Sunday. My favorite products to create such a natural look : Vichy dermablend foundation, MAC Creme cup lipstick, MAC blusher Dollymix, Benefit They’re real mascara.

2 Orange Lips

When I was a little kid, I always loved wearing bright colours but I would never wear that any colours outdoors. Now I love wearing the occasional red and of course a lovely coraly orange colour.  I do suggest you find the right shade of orange that goes on with you skin colour, not every orange lipstick will look good on you.  For those with a fair skin complextion, I guesst a pinky orange with very little yellow in it, this way the shade complements the skin without crating a stark contrast and without highlighting the fairness of the skin, that would make you look to pale. As for those with a medium toned skin complextion like me, they can use the most classical, bright and bold colour. Almost all shades look good on someone with a medium tone except for those with blue eyes,  they should opt for something darker. As or thise with a warm and dark skin complexion, the ideal choice is a type of orange reminiscent of peach that brighten up the face and soften the greenish effect typical of Olive skin tones. Also beware of bright hues at it can be quite a make-up disaster. My Favorite Orange Lipstick : NYX Matte Lipstick – Indie Flick

The Harry Potter star looked flawless at the New York premiere on March 26

3. Blue Eyeshadow

I have always loved bold colours and blue eye-shadows have truly taken center stage in recent fashion shows and even on the catwalk. Eventhough I love to experiment with colours and eye-shadows, do be careful how you apply such colours, make sure you blend well and make sure such a colour look on your skin tone. I loved using such colours on look I did a while ago. My Favorite Blue eyeshadow: Pupa Milano Vamp! Compact eyeshadow 300

4 Cat eyes

Cat eyes are such an easy way to look sexy without the need to put too much make up on. Just apply a nice winged eyeliner, and some mascara and your ready to go. If you have beautiful eyes there is really no better way to flaunt them.  There are various ways to create this winged liner,  if you have small eyes don’t do a very thick liner, leave it thin and simple. If you have big eyes, any  both winged liner will look good on you both thin or thick. My Favorite eyeliner has to be the NYX The Curve eyeliner.

5 Think Gold

In spring we slowly start getting some colour and there is no colour that looks better on a bronzed skin than some gold. Gold for me screams beach-tan-spring-summer <3. My favourite gold eyeshadows are from the Naked 3 Palette by Urban Decay

6 A pop of Green

I have to admit I rarely wear green, I don’t have any green clothing apart from a shirt here and there, and it’s not one of my favorite colors. Yet I have to admit that it’s a great colour for anyone with very light eyes and complexion, I think on me looks a bit silly on its own but with blended with a mixed array of colours it can look pretty good.  My favorite Green shadows have to be from the NYX eyeshadow set palette.

What is your favorite Spring trend? Would love your opinion down below 🙂

Happy Spring

Pupa Milano – Shiny Lip Fluid in Nude Brown 003 – Pupa Princess Limited Collection

Hello guys,

This will be my last product review for the Limited Collection Pupa Princess. Due to my hectic life, I didn’t mange to review most of their amazing collection as it was being sold at that time. Yet the quality of this product is consistent with many of their other products, so this review will give you an idea what to expect from this brand.  When I chose this Shiny Lip Fluid in Nude Brown 003 at the Pupa Milano event last Christmas, I wasn’t too excited about it’s brownish colour but to this day it has become my go-to lip gloss to complete my natural make-up looks.  I really enjoy wearing this lip colour because it so soft and hydrating on the lips, which is ideal for winter cracked lips . Lip glosses are usually so sticky and not at all hydrating, which is why I simply love this gloss.

The reflective gold packaging gives me a 1920’s vibe, and I like that it has a transparent window on the front so that you can easily see the colour and if the lipgloss is coming to an end. This gloss has a doe foot applicator unlike any others I’ve seen, makes the application go on very smoothly. The formula of the lipgloss has the intensity of a lipstick combined with the shine of a lipgloss, and the combination is felt once applied on the lips.  Brown colours do tend to look a bit dull on me, however this shade really complements my skin tone. When it comes to longevity it is quite average and it last for those 2 to 3 hours, but it leaved my lips soft and moisturized.  This beauty retails for about €11.23 euros, a pretty decent price for a good quality lipgloss.

  • Beautiful gold 1920’s vibe packaging with transparent window.
  • Good applicator
  • Soft and hydrating formula
  • Lovely natural colour colour
  • Average longevityG4

  • The formula can be a bit sticky and first but while it sets it very soft.

That is all about this product, let me know if you tried this fabulous gloss by writing your opinion down below. I always love reading your feedback

Pupa Milano – Vamp! Wet and Dry Eyeshadow – 305

In the recent months I have been testing and simply loving all of the Pupa products. Now I am finally taking the time to give you a detailed review about their latest new eye-shadow beauties. Recently Pupa launched a series of 24 gorgeous shades of Vamp! Wet and dry eyeshadows, and I was lucky to get my hands on one of them. I chose this gorgeous navy blue, that has this pearl-like kind of metallic texture.

This eyeshadow can be used both wet and dry, however I have only used it when dry up till now.  I have used this particular colour in a recent make-up look called Winter blues, so do check it out. I am simply in love with this colour, the texture and pigmentation is simply impeccable. Many have asked me about this shadow whenever I wear it. It also has little fall out and it has such a lovely smooth and “creamy” texture, which is a pleasure to work with and blend.

I also can’t express how cute is their packaging, which is very sleek and neat just how I like it .It also has a nice small applicator which can be handy for some, even though I still prefer to use my own eye-shadow brushes. This beauty retails for €11.70 which is a good reasonable price, for it great quality and it also has a good amount of product that will take a while for it to end.

  • Beautiful packaging, sleek and neat
  • Great quality and pigmentation
  • Minor fall outs
  • lasts all day
  • Worth every penny

  • NONE- I actually have nothing negative to say about this product is simply delivers.

Will I ever buy this product again? Definitely, I would buy it in an instant if I ever run out, the pigmentation is simply divine.

Do I recommend it? Of course, I urge your to visit their local Pupa stand which are available in various Pharmacies, Perfumeries and Beauty Salons, they are totally worth it.

Have you tried these eye-shadows yet? let me know your opinion down below, and thank you for stopping by 🙂
