Beyonce Inspired – Make-up look

Hey guys :),

I thought before leaving for a week, I will do a make-up look for you guys. I wish to thank you all for the support I’ve been having and so I will do my best to post something next week if I get some internet and let you know how I will be doing. But if not, you can still follow me on Instagram,  there is the link to it on the right.

B1

As you might have already noticed, this look is inspired by a true talented singer, performer and entrepreneur, Beyonce. I have been a fan of hers since Destiny’s child launched their first single No No No. Women at that time needed to see independent women in music industry that empowered us and made us feel able to achieve anything we want. This look was inspired by the early stages of Beyonce’s career, she used to wear this look many times both on stage and in photo shoots. It is a subtle smokey eye look that makes any woman feel like a diva.

B3

Here are my step by step instructions and products used:

  • Instead of a Usual primer I used the white Jumbo pencil by NYX, and applied it all over the lid. This will make your lid that perfect white canvas that every artists loves to have.
  • Then I started by applying a dark brown eye-shadow using the Fraulein Nude palette, on the crease and blended the color further down on the lid. This creates a nice gradient effect in which you can blend easily with a lighter shade of color, for which I used the nice shimmer white by the Make up store
  • I used the same color and applied it under the brows. To give a more depth to the eye I applied a tint of black onto the crease and blended it with the rest. Fraulein Nude Palette.
  • Finally to complete the eye look a nice winged eyeliner on top and even below the lashes. For this look I used the Maybelline gel liner, which I will try to post a review of after I get back :).
  • Please note that these aren’t the usual steps of applying the eye-shadow but for this look this is the best way for it to look good.
  • For the cheeks I used the E.l.f contouring bronzer and the Nars Deep Throat. As for the lips I used a Rimmel creme lip gloss. I forgot the name of it as I had it for a long time and the name rubbed off.

Well guys that is all for today 🙂 I do hope you like this look, feel free to comment down below or like this post. I really do enjoy reading your lovely comments and thank you for following

Nars – Bronzing Powder Laguna

Hey guys,

Before I start reviewing this amazing product, kindly notice that I have made a few changes on this blog. Not only design wise but even an easier way for you to follow me either on wordpress or by email and even to access my Facebook page. I hope you like it and would appreciate any further comments.

Nbronzer1

Now back to my review, as you already know I won 2 products by Nars from the lovely blogger Flora, on her giveaway. I tried this bronzing powder and was simply impressed by how it applies and it’s silk-like pigmentation. It has a slightly yellow bronze undertone which looks devine. However the texture of this bronzer isn’t completely matte but it also doesn’t have shimmer or glitter. It has what I would call a natural finish and looks like skin when applied. I think some matte bronzers are overly matte and look more fake than anything. Laguna is perfect for most skin tones. I thing this will do for both Summer and fall, however if you get really darkly tanned in summer or have a deep skin tone, NARS has another bronzer called Casino which is also reviewed very well.

Nbronzer2 Nbronzer3

Laguna blends nicely, it goes on a little sheer but I don’t mind as it allows more control of how dramatic of a look you are going for. Did I mention how gorgeous their packaging is? It is so sleek and black with a big NARS written on it, but at the same time it has this soft texture which make it fit nicely in my hands. Due it’s texture it can get quite dirty easily but it can be easily removed with a wipe. The only cons about this product is that it is quite pricey for a single bronzing, I checked on the website and it costs about €36. However you are paying for what you get, the quality is impeccable and the casing is quite big so you get a good amount of product.

Well I hope you like my review, if you have any further questions about this product or if you tried this product and want to share your opinion, feel free  to share in the comment section below.

MAC Retro Matte – Ruby Woo Lipstick

Nothing can explain my love for this particular lipstick. No review can give justice to such a lipstick. Yes I am falling in love with a lipstick, I might sound crazy but you have to give it a shot to test how good it is.

1

Well I bought the Ruby woo because recently I have heard a lot about it, being that it is very similar to the Lipstick Rihanna launched with MAC, called Riri Woo. I couldn’t find a good price for Riri woo but I did find a good price for Ruby woo, so I got it. I tested it out about a month ago, as I went for some drinks with my girls. I drank, I eat, and I drank some more an this lipstick stayed put all night. I was so impressed, I never had a lipstick which I didn’t have to reapply in a few hours. It stayed put for over 5 hrs If I recall so that is definitely a 5 star when it comes to longevity. It also doesn’t stain the teeth as it happens with most red lipsticks, and I even noticed it doesn’t stain glasses, when I drink.

2

The colour is a gorgeous red matte lipstick, it doesn’t have an orange tint like most red lipsticks, it is just perfectly matte red. It reminds me of how it was back in the 50’s, I felt like I was channeling my inner Marilyn Monroe. 🙂 Of course the pigmentation is just divine but unfortunately it can be a little bit drying on the lips, so for winter you definitely need to wear a lip balm underneath.

IMG_20130714_163158

Apart from the colour, I love M.A.C lipstick packaging, being in one of my favorite colour, Black. I also can’t get enough of the lovely smell all M.A.C lipsticks have. If you love red lipsticks, this is definitely a lipstick you have to have.

Well that all for now, I think I shared enough love for this lipstick :P. What do you think about this gorgeous lipstick ? Have you ever tried it?

Indian Inspired – Make-up Look

Hey guys,

First of all I want to wish all the Maltese a happy feast while for the rest of the world I do hope you are enjoying your day to the full :). Recently I have been very influenced by the Indian culture. I am in love with the use of colours when it comes to fashion, make up and even religion. Colour plays an important aspect to their values and everyday life. Something I noticed is, that they go full out with make-up and colour on bridal make-up. In western societies we usually go for more natural colours.

1

It would be interesting, I really get to do make up in India, because I wouldn’t have any restraints. Both in Malta and other western countries I have had clients that are sometimes scared to apply different colours because they think it will look bad, but it doesn’t. It all comes to application and blending. However let’s get to my look, I have noticed the use of purple, blue, and yellow in Indian Make-up so I thought these should be my main colours.

4

For this look I used:

  1. The Two Faced, shadow insurance primer
  2. Make up store – white shimmer colour
  3. E.l.f palette for the yellow, blue, purple colour
  4. Maybellline lasting drama gel eyeliner
  5. L’Oreal extra volume colagen Mascara
  6. For the lips I used OMG  lipstick by MUA
  7. Cheek, elf baked bronzer, Mac sheerton blusher breezy

2 3Well guys I do hope you like this look. I do hope I made justice to the beautiful Indian make-up. If you like this look, I would appreciate a like or comment down below, thank you for following

Blue Moon – Make-up look

Hey guys,

I am always trying my best to come up with great make up look for you guys. If you want me to do a particular look and maybe give you step by step instructions to how you should do it, just comment down below :). I am always looking for something new to try, I love to challenge myself in make-up.

Blue1

Blue moon is basically a blue based make-up look with a twist. I love mixing colours in order to create something out of the ordinary but that it still looks beautiful on the eyes. I have to admit it is getting harder to name my looks, but thanks to my awesome friends they help me come up with these creative names :).

A blue moon is usually used to describe a second full moon in a single solar calendar month, which happens every two to three years (seven times in the Metonic cycle of 19 years)

Blue4

  1. I always start with a white of beige base colour but this time I used the e.l.f eye transformers the yellow tone colour.
  2. On the inner corner of my eye I applied a purple/blueish colour, before applying the mustard colour.
  3. Further on I blended the purple with a turquoise colour and then I used a dark brown colour on the crease with some navy blue.
  4. I also used a tint of black on the crease and of course the mustard yellow colour on the inner corner of the eyes.
  5. Finally I applied my favorite winged liner and some mascara. For the lips I used the Mua lip boom (very similar to viva glam nicky) and for the cheeks elf baked bronzer and mac sheertone blusher.

Well I hope you like this look guys, if you do I would appreciate a like or comment down below. Thank you for following and keep posted for more

L’Oreal Extra Volume Collagen in Black

Hey guys,

It been a while since I reviewed a mascara, because I tried to use the ones I already have so they don’t dry out. This is the latest mascara I bought and I am definitely looking to update my mascara collection. I have always been in love with L’Oreal mascaras since I was a teenager. They always made my lashes look long and with a lot of volume. I have quite average long lashes but with the L’Oreal mascaras, some people even thought I had fake lashes on, because they were looking so big.

20130731_210755

So I went to my local pharmacy and bought a L’Oreal Mascara, this time it was the Extra Volume Collagen. When I saw the title “Extra Volume” and the thick brush it has, I was immediately bought. It cost me about 16 euros, a bit expensive for a drugstore brand but I didn’t mind as I knew for sure I would get immediate results. I loved it’s black sleek packaging, reminds me of some of the high end mascara’s.

20130731_210822

Overall I like this Mascara, I am not in love with it but I do like it. To be honest I was expecting more Volume than the other Mascaras I have tried from L’Oreal. It does give some volume and I love that separates the lashes. This mascara is very dense and can be gloppy when you start a new tube of it. The brush is very fluffy so a lot of product is dispensed on the brush when you pull it out of the tube. In order to avoid too much product, scrape the side of the wand on the inside when you are pulling the wand out and it gives you a clean side of the brush to work with.

20130731_211009

This mascara takes a practiced hand and isn’t ideal for someone new to applying mascara. It wears well, does not flake off and I like that it can be easily removed with cleanser and water, and a bit of eye makeup remover afterwards.

Overall it is a good mascara and I do recommend it to you guys, but don’t expect extra-volume. Well that is for now guys, Keep posted fore more reviews and make-up looks

Helena Bonham Carter – Vogue- Inspired Make-up Look

Helena Bonham Carter is a truly exceptional women in her own dark way. I love the mixture of Goth and Vintage style she has. Even-though I wouldn’t agree on most of her fashion choices, I do love that she is true to herself and doesn’t let anyone change her. I do believe she is a great actress and that doesn’t mind looking weird or ugly for the sake of playing an awesome character.

HBC1

However for Vogue she looked her gorgeous true self in these goth and vintage photos. So I thought of channeling my inner Helena and do a make up look, inspired by this shoot.

The make up look is very simple and very much 50’s style. The eyes are very natural with a touch of brown to contour the eyes and some dark fake lashes. The face is very pale with a tinge of bronzer to highlight the cheeks, while the main focus is on the dark red lips.

HBC2

HBC4

This look is very synonym with what is in vogue nowadays. Make-up nowadays has been giving a lot of focus on the lips rather than on the eyes. We are seeing a lot of red lips this summer and I have to admit, I am truly loving it.

Well I do hope you like this look, if you do either like or comment down below, thank you for following.

Colourful Eyeliner – Make-up Look

Hey guys,

I hope you are having a great weekend so far. Today I am going to share with you another great look for this Summer. I’ve seen this look on the catwalk and even on photo-shoots, I love that make-up artists are experimenting with new techniques and colors. The eyeliner has also been transformed from the usual black winged eyeliner to a more colorful design. This look is very simple but yet effective. I wore this look for a bbq, but can be also worn for various occasions. However I do suggest you wear this look in the morning/afternoon, because the colors look great in full light.

1

For my look I used 2 colors, a nice teal blue with a dark purple. I still applied a black eyeliner underneath to outline my eyes. So that the eye-shadow stays put make sure you apply concealer or a primer.

3

For this look I used E.L.F 100 palette eye-shadows, and not colored eyeliners. I used the same eye-shadows on top and under my lower lashes.2

I do hope you like this look, if you have any questions please comment down below. 🙂

Thank you for following and keep posted for more

My Mini OPI Haul

Hey guys :),

So I have a tendency to obsess on different objects at different times. I find something which I am lacking of at the moment and but a lot of options. Recently I had an OPI nail laquer obsession, and bought a couple of products from e-bay.

The first thing I bought was the OPI nail envy for me and my sister, my sister nails were needing some serious treatment and she used my nail envy and fell in love with it. My nail envy is almost finished (thanks to my sister :p), so I bought one for her and one for me. So now she doesn’t have to borrow mine anymore.

20130711_224401

I already reviewed this miracle worker before but as you can see I truly love it. At first I was skeptical because I tried many hardeners before and did nothing for my thin nails, and at first I wasn’t seeing any change. But then I saw miracles after a couple of weeks, my nails truly become harder and grew stronger. Unfortunately recently I went trough a stressful time and my nails become thinner and started chipping again. That means they need a dose of nail envy.20130711_224343

The second thing I bought is the cute Mini set of nail lacquers in neon colours. Being that nails aren’t in the best shape at the moment, I thought by buying this set will make me look more forward to get them in shape :). Also neon colors are very much in vogue nowadays, I personally don’t like them on clothes because I find neon can look a bit trashy. However I do like neon colors on my nails and some type of accessories, especially now in Summer. Can’t wait to try them out and review them for you :D.

That is all for now guys, keep posted for more reviews and interesting make-up looks coming up.

Subtle Pink – Make-up Look

Hey guys,

So about 2 weeks ago, I went to the Isle of MTV and I wore this pink make-up look, which I grew fond of. I have to admit I am not a pinky person when it comes to eye-shadows but in Summer I do like to experiment with colors.  So get ready for some colorful make-up looks :).

P1

For this look I used 2 main palettes, the e.l.f 100 shades palette and the Fraulein 38. This is the list of products and step by step instructions:

P4

  1. First I applied a thin layer of concealer using the Make up store covering cover all concealer.
  2. Then I used a matte white colour from the Fraulein neutral palette and applied it under my brows and on the inner corner of my lid.
  3. On the middle of my lid I used a bronze colour and blended it with a light pink colour.
  4. For the crease I used a brown colour and applied a vibrant pink on the inner corner of my eyes.
  5. Finally I applied the maybelline gel liner and Loreal Mascara.
  6. As for the lips I used the MAC Viva glam by Nicky and for the cheeks the Marbert pink blusher and elf bronzer st.lucia.

P3

P2
