My Latvian Beauty Haul <3

Hello dear readers,

I hope you liked my previous post, where I mentioned the best places to shop should you visit Latvia or even the Baltic region. Since most shops are available in all of the Baltic countries, and not only in Latvia. I would suggest you read the post before you keep reading this one, so you get a sense of what the shops are about. But if you are looking to see some goodies keep on scowling down.

So let’s starts amd show you all of the products I bought from all of these Latvian¬†shops. ūüėÄ

Drogas

Since Drogas have all the products you need, for hair, face and body at a cheap price, I did buy quite a lot of stuff. Here’s the list below:

  • 5 Lipstick shades from Fennel a cosmetic company from Thailand. They were discounted to 1 to 2 approx euros each.
  • Wellness & Beauty by Rossmann – Tea Extract and Olive – body oil. A Polish company which provide this range of body oils and much more.
  • Natura Siberica – Loves Latvija – Body scrub. It is a Russian Organic brand based in Siberia, which have a variety of skin and body care collections and one is dedicated to it’s neighbour of Latvia.
  • Amie Naturally kind- Skin care- Morning Clear Purifying Facial wash – Got it at discount for approx 3 euros ūüėÄ
  • L’Oreal Evital – Heat protector on coloured hair – Since the one I currently use by Tresemme is running out, I needed a replacement.
  • Body Butter and Body Scrub by Superdrug – These were on offer for just 1.30euros each, and they are just as good as the body butter from the Body shop.
  • L’Oreal Nutri Gold Face Oil and Moisturizer – Since my face was getting pretty dry I thought I should try these out.
  • L’Oreal Mascara and SkinPerfection Micellar Water- to clean my face from all the make-up I put on.
  • Golden Rose – Long-stay Matte Foundation… can’t wait to test it out ūüėÄ
  • Beauty FormulaCharcoal Clay Mask-I heard pretty good things about the mask and they were not lying. Review coming up.

Stenders

From this awesome shop I got the shower gel and creamy body scrub in cranberry. I also got a pieces of soap from their enormous collection, forgot the name but I simple love the smell. It also left the lovely aroma on all of my clothes, since it was in my luggage. Finally I was given a cute travel set to try their shampoo and conditioner, by my lovely Latvian friend. Even if im dieing to try them out, I want to wait a bit, since they contain such nice memeories.

Dzintars

From the Latvian skin care range of Dzintars I only got their lipbalms, the green one is the original while the orange one is a new range. It is all written in latvian so cannot say what is the difference between them. But I like the most the orange one since it has a nice fruity smell.

Rituals

The Dutch brand of Rituals¬†recently launched the collection called¬†the Ritual of Sakura, from which I got the body mist, body lotions and shower gel. The cool thing about the shower gel is that it comes out as foam, and you¬†don’t need a large amount since its spreads. ¬†Can’t wait to pamper myself with them.

Street Markets

In most cities of Latvia you will find street markets, especially in Christmas time. One day I went to Jurmala, a lovely city next to the Beach. There you can find shops and also cute street markets, where you can find anything from scarfs, mittens to local home-made soaps (as the ones you see in the photo). Even in the capital of Riga you can find pretty interesting stuff in these wooden housed markets. Next to the soaps (in the image above) you will see an odd but pretty  ring which was given to me as a present. The ring contains a nice big Amber stone, since Amber is very popular in those areas. Finally I got the Latvian scarf which is shown on the top of every picture. The pattern is pretty symbolic with Latvia and they are very much in fashion right now.

Duty Free

Last but not least, I got this lovely perfume by Moschino with some other yummy stuff at the Duty free. It was a real pity that I didn’t have more time in my hands, when I left Riga. Since there are some nice shops to¬†see and at very decent prices. I simple love how you can find a variety of local brands but also Polish, Lithuanian, German and Russian brands. Pretty cool.

Well that is all for my pretty big Haul from my Holiday in Riga, I did stock up on everyday stuff that will last me for half if not the whole year. So thank you Riga for being so affordable and filled with beautiful things, I will definitely visit again.

I hope you like my post :D, please show some love by following my blog and liking my Facebook page

Beauty Brands in Latvia (Baltic Region)

Hello dear readers,

Welcome to my page once again and I would like to wish you all a lovely New Year :).

Like every year 2016¬†had it’s many ups and downs. Yet I am thankful for the new friends it brought me, new clients and great opportunities. I also conquered one of my fears of flying on my own, which I’ve done twice in a year. First to the lovely City of Amsterdam, and then recently to what I feels like my second home, in Riga, Latvia.

Riga is a beautiful city filled with culture, good food and lovely people. Latvians may not be as welcoming as Maltese can be. Yet once they get to know you, they will treat like their own.

Intentionally I was going to do a post¬†about beauty brands in the Netherlands, but I didn’t get to discover any particular new brands while there. Since I was more interested in the art and history it provided, than looking for beauty products. Yet in Latvia there is¬†quite a vast range¬†of stores, both foreign and local, which¬†have created a name for themselves in Latvia and even in the Baltic region.

So here is a list of  beauty shops and brands to looks for in this beautiful country:

Drogas

Image result for drogas shops

Drogas is by far my favourite chain of beauty shops in Latvia. I was lucky enough to find one in every corner in Riga, since their shops are available throughout Latvia and Lithuania. They have anything you need from toiletries, hair products, skin care and of course Make-up.

One important think I forgot to mention, is that prices are ridiculously CHEAP compared to the Maltese market. ¬†You can find from the cheapest make-up like Essence and Catrice, but also the most famous drugstore brands like L’Oreal, Max factor and Maybeline to Art Deco and Golden Rose.

It is really heaven for beauty lovers, and since it was during the holiday season many things were discounted even more. The only downer is that there are some products which are in German, Russian or Latvian. But you can always find a nice soul to translate everything for you. (Thank you my latvian good souls ūüėõ )

Dzintars

Image result for dzintars

Dzintars is a Local beauty shop which specialise in perfumery, skin care and Biocosmetic. They are known for using natural bio-active substances which help and protect the skin. Not only for skin care but also in the their make-up. It was a pity I didn’t get much time to try and test their products, but if I get to go again I will definitely check it out.

Stenders

Image result for stenders

Stenders has become one of my favourite shop for showering, bathing and body care. It has captured me with the enchanting aroma as I walked into the shop and has left me craving for more. This is another local brand that has opened out it wings and has now 220 shops in 27 countries.

It is a like a mixture of Lush and the Body shop, minus the make-up.¬†They also have a variety of different delicious smelly soaps, which they can cut from just for you.The prices are very reasonable considering the quality of these soaps and shower gels, so do check them out. They also do deliveries in most countries including Malta ūüėÄ

Rituals

Image result for rituals riga

Talking about the Netherlands (in the start of my post), Rituals is a dutch brand, very similar to Stenders since is focuses on baths and shower gels. However it is also targeted to create ambience with aromas for Spas, homes and even hotels. It is very new to the Latvian Market, but it is getting more known and loved for their special aromas using oils and herbs. Products include, skin and body care, make-up, and perfumes for body and interiors.

The products are slightly more expensive than Stenders, but still reasonable priced for the Maltese market. I would definitely check them out either in Riga Plaza , or in any of the other 28 countries.

Douglas

Image result for douglas in riga

Douglas is probably not new to many of you, this German chain of shops is available around Europe housing a variety of beauty products including their own. From make-up to perfumery and much more. However since Sephora is not available in Latvia, brands like Urban Decay and Benefit are found in most Douglas stores.

Stockmann – M.A.C

Image result for stockmann riga

Stockmann is a large shopping Mall in Latvia where you will find all of the high end luxury brands, like M.A.C, Yves Saint Laurent, Estee Lauder, Clarins, Bobbi Brown, and much more. I honestly didn’t get the chance to go trough the store, but it did me good. ¬†Even if I love to stock up on some new M.A.C lipsticks, it’s time to take a break from buying for a little while. However if you are looking for some high quality beauty products, Stockmann is the place to be.

Something which I have missed was having a Kiko Milano Store, but it was probably for the best :D. Yet I was not disappointing at all with what Latvia offers, instead it left me wanting for more.¬†It may not be one of the top destinations in the world, but it is definitely worth visiting. It might actually steal your heart ūüėÄ <3

Well I hope you found this post helpful, let me know if you would like me to write about my travels. I will do another post and show you all of the products I got from Latvia.

Show some love by following my blog and liking my posts and my page on Facebook.

Lots of love

Festive Season Make-Up Look No1

Hello lovely followers,

Since these festive season is here I wanted to post a couple of looks which could help you out for the upcoming parties, dinners and various festive celebrations. As a Malteaser we do take the Christmas celebrations pretty seriously, we always have parties, dinners or various gathering to attend to and it is important we look great each time (I’m not joking, its tiring :P)

20161206_205626

So here is my first look for this December, it’s has some winter elements with a bit of gold highlight tones. As you can see from the image, I used brown and plum shades on the crease and inner corner. Then applied a nice metallic yellow creme shadow, which looks golden when applied in small amount. It creates the illusion of depth and contrasts in the eyes, which I absolutely love.

As for the lips I didn’t want to go for the usual red shade (which I love btw, but sometimes it’s nice to spice it up). I used this beautiful new lipstick I bought from M.A.C called Captive, its a lovely plum colour with some brown and red undertones.

Green Liner -Summer Make-up Look

Are you feeling the Heat? If not move to Malta and you will feel it ūüėÄ

Since Summer is here I created this make-up look to get you in the mood. My main inspiration was making use of my new Pupa Milano Vamp Definition liner in 500 Emerald Green. ¬†I wanted to create a simple but fun look for this season, were less is more. In Summer I feel it’s right time to experiment with colours but at the same time use medium coverage foundation and keep it simple and fresh. You don’t want to look like the Joker when it’s too hot. So avoid a lot of layers, and stand out be wearing colorful liners or bright lipstick, like I’m doing in this look.

GL2

TIP: I am not going to bore you with the details but I will tell you the secret when using a coloured liner. Always match it up with a black liner, ¬†cause it might not suit every skin or eye colour on its own. However the trick is to first apply a the thick coloured liner and then apply the black liner after. I one did it the other way round and the result wasn’t nice. Apart for applying on the eyelids you can apply it also under the lower lashes.

Since I wanted the liner to be the centre of attention, I used very natural eye-shadow.  But I still wanted to do something bold with my lips and I used my favorite Matte purple lipstick by Sleek called Exxxaggerate 792.

GL3

Colourful eyeliners are very much in Vogue nowadays, especially on the catwalk. Which is why Pupa Milano always has the right products for anything that is in style. I really like this eyeliner and I might actually buy another one from their range, the electric blue 301¬†looks so cool. The Vamp Definition liner costs¬†‚ā¨10.90 and it is found in most beauty outlets and pharmacies around Malta and Gozo.

GL1

I do hope you love this luck, do not forget to follow me or like my Facebook page. Keep updated for more looks and cool updated.

Purple and Pink Smokey _Make-Up Look

Hello guys,

I hope you are having a great weekend so far and getting pumped up for another week. I am very excited to finally cover a Make-up look I did yesterday, on my blog. It’s an ideal look for a date night or a special occasion, especially since now that the wedding season is here. You can wear this look if you are wearing a touch of purple or pink or even if you are wearing a simple black dress, it will pop up your whole look.

L3

Keep on reading if you want to know what products I used and how to create such a look ūüôā Please keep in mind that you can recreate this look with any similar product you might have:

Instructions:

Base

I always start my make-up look with a primer, this time I used the Pupa B.B cream powder which I also reviewed this week. It is a great product to help with any redness and it moisturizes as well. Then I move on to my foundation and I apply the Vichy Dermablend number 25 on all my face (do not forget your neck and cleavage area, if you are showing some ūüėõ ) then I use the Dermablend number 45 (or 2 tones darker than your skin colour) to contour my face.

When I contour I like to leave the bronzer or foundation untouched then I blend it in after a few minutes,. To finish up my base I apply the Dermablend number 15 which is the lightest shade on my T zone and under my eyes. Never forget to apply powder to set all of your foundation. I like to use a light powder for my t zone, than a translucent powder for the rest of my face. For which I used the NYX stay matte but not flat powder in 01 and Essence all about Matt translucent fixing powder.

L1

Eyes

I like to start my eye look with an eye-shadow primer, this is ideal for weddings since you are probably going to party the night away, and you definitely want your eye-shadow to remain intact. My favorite is the Urban Decay potion primer Eden it gives a nice tint to my shadows and it remains intact. Then I start by applying a mauve shade my the Body shop, it a nice light brown shade that helps to serve as a base for the whole smokey look.

On the eyelid I used the Kiko Colour Fever eye-shadow palette 101, it has 2 beautiful dark purple colours which have a lovely frosty finish. Then on the outer corner and the crease I applied the Make Up Store Choco D’or, a beautiful dark brown shadow with gold tone. Make sure not to forget to apply a nice matte white shade ( Make up store- White and Satin) for under the brow bone and a nice shimmer white shade on to the inner corner of your eyes, for definition.

Last but not least a nice winged liner using Kiko Precision Eyeliner, for this look I also applied the liner under my eyes and onto the inner corner. Finally pump up my lashes with some mascara using the Essence Get big lashes. Feel free to apply some fake lashes for the occasion.

L2

Cheeks and Lips

For the cheeks I used a nice Pink tone blusher by Make Up Store called Glam Rose, and for a nice glow I applied the beautiful highlighter by Soap and Glory called Glow all out, on my cheeks, nose and forehead .For the lips I used 2 types of lipsticks, instead of using a lip liner, I applied the gorgeous Pink Make up Revolution Salvation Lip Lacquer called What I believe and then Make Up Store Mandy a beautiful Fuchsia Lipstick. Having these two together made my lipstick last longer and it looked bolder and brighter. Love it <3

Well that is all for now, I do hope you enjoyed this look. Feel free to comment and show some love by following my blog, here on facebook and blogloving. I love to get your feedback ūüôā

Wish you all a great Sunday, lots of LOVE

Makeup Revolution- Liquid Eyeliners

Hello guys,

Finally I am have my blogging muse once again and I will start doing reviews of some of my favorite and even least favorite beauty products.

Today I want to talk about 2 of my favorite liquid eyeliner by Make-up revolution, the “Amazing¬†Eyeliner in black” and waterproof and the “Awesome Eyliner felt and Kohl”.

Eyeliner1

I have to say that these are the best eyeliners¬†that you shall¬†find, at this ridiculous cheap price. There are definitely other good eyeliners in the market¬†but I haven’t encountered good ones that¬†are this cheap, cause for sure they all cost more than 6 euros minimum. ¬†The “Amazing” liner costs 1.50 sterling (approx 2:50euros)while the “Awesome” liner is 3.50(approx 5 euros).

Eyeliner3

From their names you can realize that they were not kidding when they named these liners “Awesome” and “Amazing“, cause they are indeed. My favorite is the waterproof version of amazing cause it doesn’t smudge and it stays put a whole day. I also love the thin brush, as it give you the ability to draw¬†at¬†any thickness you need. But it is also slightly firm, especially for those that find it tough to apply eyeliner. Another good factor is that it will last you for a good 3 months, if you apply eyeliner often, it might even last you longer.

Eyeliner2

Then the Awesome liner is a perfect eyeliner for when you are on the go and you feel kinda lazy to be painting the Mona liza a winged liner. ¬†It has 2 felt pens one is thin and the other is thicker for when you want to be a little bit more adventurous. The only downer is that it isn’t waterproof, so if by any chance you decide to touch it, it will transfer. But if it doesn’t rain and you are not watching the Notebook, you don’t have to worry about your eyeliner. It will remain intact.

Overall I am pretty pleased with these liners, I use them everyday for work. I love how easy I can create any shape and thicknesses with both liners, but my fav has to be the Amazing liner. Also that it is a very dark black colour, cause some liners to be a charcoal grey rather than an actual black. Of course you can find these beauties at their own website, and I suggest you to stock these as much as you can ūüėÄ

Nat1

Have you tried them out? if so let me know what you think ūüôā Please don’t forget to show some love and like my facebook page and you can also follow me on Instagram and Bloglovin

Fun times at the Artisan Market

12963889_10153664475078160_2311367499059369672_n

Hello Guys,

I do hope you had a fun weekend that made Monday less tough to wake-up to. Yesterday, after a lot of nagging from my boyfriend we¬†went to the Artisan Market in Fort St.Elmo, and I enjoyed it. Not that I don’t usually like Markets, but most of time there are the same things I’ve already seen over and over again. However this time it was different as new entrepreneurs are coming with creative ideas.

12963629_10153664475123160_4282576479013772295_n

The first¬†set-up¬†which struck me the most is the Undressed brand, which consists of¬†artisan sugar scrubs using natural ingredients for hand and body. I really liked their¬†initiative of having people try their products right there and then. Cause when you get to try a product, and you test it out,¬†if it’s right, it will win you over.

13010022_10156764658985103_876497547_o

Their products definitely won me over, especially their Oatmeal and Coconut Scrub which I shall review in another post. They have a variety of scrubs and all are used for different reasons. Some to treat certain issues and other to relax and stimulate your body. I do suggest that you visit and like their facebook and keep yourself updated with their products.

12923199_1605491483108970_3381971877693886781_n

Another set-up which I particularly loved, was the Patches and Bonnets Vintage inspired Jewelry. The style of Jewelry is a mixture of Victorian with a touch of modern patterns and cartoon imagery. I really loved the cute little books, and floral patterns and all the other tins trinkets she manages to come up with. All of which is handmade using both new and recycled material. I also got myself a cute necklace and some funky earrings which are ideal for a casual night out.

You shall find more information on where to find these cute pieces of handmade jewelry on the her facebook page.

Show some love to Maltese talent and check them out. In the meantime here’s what this curvy blogger was wearing for a Saturday night out. ūüėÄ

I <3 Make Up - You're Gorgeous Palette by Make up Revolution

Hi there,

A while ago I did a bit of a shopping spree on the Make Up Revolution Website, and at that time they has this offer that with every buy that was over a certain amount ( which I do not remember) they gave out this palette with 2 of the Wow lip-glosses.

1

Images from the Make up Revolution Website

I am so glad they gave me this palette as it truly is my go to palette for everyday and much more.¬†I wish to apologize that I don’t have any original pictures as mine is not in it’s prime shape¬†as I used this palette frequently/

In the upper section of the palette you will find a variety of  10 matte natural colours, which include cream, browns and black. I simply love the matte colours, they  apply nicely and are perfect for everyday make-up.  Then below there are about 22 smaller, various shimmery colours from light to dark. I have to admit I am not really a fan of the shimmery shades, I find them a bit flaky and shed more than the others. But overall they are still a nice addition to the palette.

Pros:

  • Very nice black packaging
  • ¬†The matte shadows are simply a must have
  • ¬†It has all the colours you would need for everyday¬†and even evening look
  • Ideal for travelling (I took this palette with me when I traveled to Italy and it was more than enough)
  • Very cheap and worth every penny

Cons:
‚ÄĘ Not a big fan of the shimmer shades

Will I ever buy this product again? I probably will, I love using it for eveyday.

Do I recommend it? Definitely, I think it’s a must have especially if you’re on a tight budget.

Rating: 4/5

Would love to hear from your opinion, if you ever tried this product

Lots of Love

Sultry Purple – Make-Up Look

Hello Everyone,

A few months ago I posted this picture of myself on Instagram, this was me all dolled up before a wedding I attended with my boyfriend. I haven’t had many weddings this year, and it was a lovely opportunity to look and feel my best. The dress I wore was a simple but yet lovely purple dress, which got me inspired to do this look. ¬†Everyone I know loved this look, and my new colleagues being ¬†still unaware that I am an artist myself, thought I went to a professional make-up artist. I was however very flattered as it means I did a good job ūüôā¬†2

  • ¬†The eyes are the main focus of this look. I wanted to create a nice sultry smokey eyes, but still having a soft feel to it all. ¬†Make up can entice you, but it can also put you off especially when it’s not done the right way.
  • I made sure that the inner corner of the eyes where a light colour, then mixed a couple of purple and violet shades together to create a nice mid tone colour. Finishing off with a deeper purple colour and black shadow and blend it all with a brown shadow in between the crease and the brow bone.
  • Of course a nicely done winged eyeliner, some mascara and fake lashes will complete the eyes.
  • For the lips I used a nude pink tone lip liner and lipstick and as for the cheeks a peachy toned blusher does wonders with a purple look.

Do it yourself: Manicure

M1Hello guys,

Well today post is a little bit different than usual, however it still has a lot to do with beauty. Recently my nails are a bit of a mess, and I honestly feel ashamed to have them looking so bad. My nails have never been thick, mostly because of my years of nail biting. It’s been 2 years since I stopped biting them and they have improved a lot, yet unfortunately they are still very thin and break very easily. Before the manicure my nails where all in different lengths, and they didn’t look one bit pretty. So I decided to give myself a manicure, and show you how to do it yourself. It is very easy just follow my steps.

M3

1 First step is to remove any bits of nail polish you might have left with a Nail polish remover. The one I used is from Kiko.

2 Second step is to dab your fingers into warm water for about 10 minutes. This will make your nails will be softer, which is ideal for when you need to file them.

M4

3 Next step is to file your nails, make sure to file them in one direction. The was my biggest mistake when I was younger I used to file them in both directions, which is why my nails are a mess. Also try to give them the same length.

4 Use a cuticle oil and apply and massage it one each nail, so that the nails will absorb it well. I used the Mavala Cuticle oil, it is seriously one of the best. Also if you have a cuticle remover ( not sure what it is actually called), push the cuticle inwards. Unfortunately I couldn’t find one so I used my nails instead.

M5

5 Step five I applied some hand lotion, and let the hand absorb it well. I have quite a selection of hand creme but I decided to use the Dr.Organic hand and nail cream, because it is very moisturizing and ideal for nails.

6 Before applying any sort of nail polish, I made sure to remove and moisturizer that there might have been on the nails. As it might not help with the application.

7 Apply any base coat or hardener depends on the state of your nails. Being that I need a nail hardener I applied the Sally Hanson Miracle nail thickener. Not sure if I like the hardener over my usual OPI Nail envy but I will give it a shot. If you don’t need a hardener just apply a base coat, then any coloured nail polish you wish and finally a top coat. ¬†This will make your nail polish last longer.

Well that is all for today DIY manicure, I hope you enjoyed this post and you found it helpful. If you need any help feel free to ask. Try to find time for yourself and make sure you take care of yourselves.

Make sure to like my facebook page and follow my blog for more beauty posts.
