Maybelline- Eye Studio Lasting Drama – Gel Eyliner

Hello there,

This is my first review on my new website :), which is pretty exciting. I do hope you like new layout and logo, I designed it to be very simple, and accessible. Let me know what you think below.

1

This today I will review the Maybelline- Eye studio lastin Drama- Gel eyeliner (yes the name is long), I have been using this eyeliner for a long time and have found it to be quite a good gel eyeliner and the best I had tried from most drugstore brands. The texture of it is in between that of a pencil and that of a liquid liner. It comes with a nice brush which unfortunately I lost for some reason, so I couldn’t show it to you guys. It retails for approximately €9 which is a good price for a gel liner and you get a good amount of product which will last you for a long time.

2

Pros:

  • It has a nice dark black colour, just the way I like them
  • The packaging is very nice and quite sturdy,  however it would be better if the brush incorporated with the tube, so I you don’t get to lose it
  • The brush is good especially for a winged eyeliner but not suitable for precise thin lines
  • It last on my lids for a whole day. When I used to wear it for work,  it would still be visible once I got home, 9hrslater.

Cons:

  • The most annoying thing for me was that I have to clean the brush after each application, because the buildup can cause the liner to look very sloppy.
  • If you have oily lids it might smudge a little bit after a long day or wear but on me it worked just fine.
  • Make sure that if you use it, use it repetitively, don’t forget about it like I did cause it dried out a bit. However I still use it for my eye-brows.

3

Will I ever buy this product again? Maybe, it’s not a bad eyeliner but not my favorite either. I like that it stays on for a long time but having to clean the brush all the time after using can be annoying.

Do I recommend it? I recommend this to girls who aren’t a fan of pencil or liquid liners.

Beyonce Inspired – Make-up look

Hey guys :),

I thought before leaving for a week, I will do a make-up look for you guys. I wish to thank you all for the support I’ve been having and so I will do my best to post something next week if I get some internet and let you know how I will be doing. But if not, you can still follow me on Instagram,  there is the link to it on the right.

As you might have already noticed, this look is inspired by a true talented singer, performer and entrepreneur, Beyonce. I have been a fan of hers since Destiny’s child launched their first single No No No. Women at that time needed to see independent women in music industry that empowered us and made us feel able to achieve anything we want. This look was inspired by the early stages of Beyonce’s career, she used to wear this look many times both on stage and in photo shoots. It is a subtle smokey eye look that makes any woman feel like a diva.

Here are my step by step instructions and products used:

  • Instead of a Usual primer I used the white Jumbo pencil by NYX, and applied it all over the lid. This will make your lid that perfect white canvas that every artists loves to have.
  • Then I started by applying a dark brown eye-shadow using the Fraulein Nude palette, on the crease and blended the color further down on the lid. This creates a nice gradient effect in which you can blend easily with a lighter shade of color, for which I used the nice shimmer white by the Make up store
  • I used the same color and applied it under the brows. To give a more depth to the eye I applied a tint of black onto the crease and blended it with the rest. Fraulein Nude Palette.
  • Finally to complete the eye look a nice winged eyeliner on top and even below the lashes. For this look I used the Maybelline gel liner, which I will try to post a review of after I get back :).
  • Please note that these aren’t the usual steps of applying the eye-shadow but for this look this is the best way for it to look good.
  • For the cheeks I used the E.l.f contouring bronzer and the Nars Deep Throat. As for the lips I used a Rimmel creme lip gloss. I forgot the name of it as I had it for a long time and the name rubbed off.

Subtle Pink – Make-up Look

Hey guys,

So about 2 weeks ago, I went to the Isle of MTV and I wore this pink make-up look, which I grew fond of. I have to admit I am not a pinky person when it comes to eye-shadows but in Summer I do like to experiment with colors.  So get ready for some colorful make-up looks :).

P1

For this look I used 2 main palettes, the e.l.f 100 shades palette and the Fraulein 38. This is the list of products and step by step instructions:

P4

  1. First I applied a thin layer of concealer using the Make up store covering cover all concealer.
  2. Then I used a matte white colour from the Fraulein neutral palette and applied it under my brows and on the inner corner of my lid.
  3. On the middle of my lid I used a bronze colour and blended it with a light pink colour.
  4. For the crease I used a brown colour and applied a vibrant pink on the inner corner of my eyes.
  5. Finally I applied the maybelline gel liner and Loreal Mascara.
  6. As for the lips I used the MAC Viva glam by Nicky and for the cheeks the Marbert pink blusher and elf bronzer st.lucia.

Maybelline Affinitone foundation Review

Hey guys 🙂
First of all, thank you so much for following my blog, it feels great having 31 followers already. I hope you find my posts helpful and if you have any questions feel free to ask.

DSC00825

So the second product I am going to review this week is the foundation by Maybelline called Affinitone. I got this at the perfumery in the shopping mall I went about 2 weeks ago I guess and I wanted to try the foundation by Maybelline. I was on a budget so I didn’t want to spend a lot of money on a foundation. They have become more expensive lately all of the drug store make up except rimmel or revlon which are still average.
This is not one of the latest foundations of Maybelline, but it is the cheapest. I bought it for 10 euros while the others are about 16euros. I wasn’t impressed by the latest foundations they have, especially the matte mouse, which felt so weird when I tried on the tester. I think Maybelinne are so focused on trying new application methods that they are forgetting the most important thing to have in a foundation, a good formula. Also the new foundation tubes with a pump are becoming very smaller they contain a fewer amount of liquid that it would probably last less than a month.

Now back to Affinitone what I like about it is its soft texture, it blends very well onto the skin and it gives a nice soft feeling to your face. It also hides well some blemishes and it gives a very natural look and doesn’t make your face feel cakey at all. It is very subtle so if you need a very good coverage, I wouldn’t probably suggest it. It is a foundation you would wear everyday for school or work not for an evening out.

The think that I didn’t like is the packaging because the liquid is quite runny and it tends to go out of the packaging. Also I didn’t like that after a few hours the foundation seems to go off. I would definitely prefer if it stayed for longer, especially if your wearing it for the long hours of work.

So those were my opinions of this Maybelline foundation, if you have any questions comment down below. Keep posted for more juicy posts.
