Elemis – Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm – Review

Hello my dear followers,

A few months back I attended the Elemis launch here in Malta and I was given a few samples to test out, including the Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm. At first I was thinking of doing one post on all the products, but there is so much to say on each product that i would be boring you out.

If you are not familiar with Elemis, than you will be now. This Uk brand specializes in creating high-end skincare products for mature women, which combine the best of nature and science combined.

The Elemis Pro-collaged cleansing balm has an oil base creamy texture with a lavender, chamomile and a touch of mint aroma. It is used to dissolve make up and any dirt and oil you might have from your skin. Known for having a blend of precious starflower, elderberrry, optimega oils, and anti-ageing Padina pavonica which firms the skin but also smooths and hydrate your skin.  All of the ingredients are natural oils which are grown in the UK, and it is suitable for all skin types.

After trying this balm for a couple of times, I have to admit that it is an exceptional product. It is like having a facial in a jar. Once you open the jar you are greeted with a beautiful aroma, that is so relaxing and made me feel like I’m at the Spa. The cool thing about this product is that you can use it in 2 ways, you can smooth it over the face and neck and gently massage it into the skin and remove with a worm cleansing cloth, or (my favorite) leave it for 10 minutes as a relaxing mask.

Once I remove the balm, my skin is soft and glowing, and not one bit oily. The only downer for some women, it that it  costs 48 euros, but I have to say that it is worth every single penny. You can feel the difference from drugstore skincare products to the Elemis brand, it is really rich in quality.

I highly recommend this product, and if money permits I might purchase the actual big jar in the future.

What do you guys think? have you tried this product or any of Elemis range? feel free to comment down below. Do not forget to subscribe and show some love on my Facebook page or Instagram

Festive Season Make-Up Look No1

Hello lovely followers,

Since these festive season is here I wanted to post a couple of looks which could help you out for the upcoming parties, dinners and various festive celebrations. As a Malteaser we do take the Christmas celebrations pretty seriously, we always have parties, dinners or various gathering to attend to and it is important we look great each time (I’m not joking, its tiring :P)

20161206_205626

So here is my first look for this December, it’s has some winter elements with a bit of gold highlight tones. As you can see from the image, I used brown and plum shades on the crease and inner corner. Then applied a nice metallic yellow creme shadow, which looks golden when applied in small amount. It creates the illusion of depth and contrasts in the eyes, which I absolutely love.

As for the lips I didn’t want to go for the usual red shade (which I love btw, but sometimes it’s nice to spice it up). I used this beautiful new lipstick I bought from M.A.C called Captive, its a lovely plum colour with some brown and red undertones.

Green Liner -Summer Make-up Look

Are you feeling the Heat? If not move to Malta and you will feel it 😀

Since Summer is here I created this make-up look to get you in the mood. My main inspiration was making use of my new Pupa Milano Vamp Definition liner in 500 Emerald Green.  I wanted to create a simple but fun look for this season, were less is more. In Summer I feel it’s right time to experiment with colours but at the same time use medium coverage foundation and keep it simple and fresh. You don’t want to look like the Joker when it’s too hot. So avoid a lot of layers, and stand out be wearing colorful liners or bright lipstick, like I’m doing in this look.

GL2

TIP: I am not going to bore you with the details but I will tell you the secret when using a coloured liner. Always match it up with a black liner,  cause it might not suit every skin or eye colour on its own. However the trick is to first apply a the thick coloured liner and then apply the black liner after. I one did it the other way round and the result wasn’t nice. Apart for applying on the eyelids you can apply it also under the lower lashes.

Since I wanted the liner to be the centre of attention, I used very natural eye-shadow.  But I still wanted to do something bold with my lips and I used my favorite Matte purple lipstick by Sleek called Exxxaggerate 792.

Colourful eyeliners are very much in Vogue nowadays, especially on the catwalk. Which is why Pupa Milano always has the right products for anything that is in style. I really like this eyeliner and I might actually buy another one from their range, the electric blue 301 looks so cool. The Vamp Definition liner costs €10.90 and it is found in most beauty outlets and pharmacies around Malta and Gozo.

I do hope you love this luck, do not forget to follow me or like my Facebook page. Keep updated for more looks and cool updated.

Dot Collection – Miss Pupa Ultra Bright lipstick in 004

Hello guys,

As you must have seen in my Facebook page, Pupa Milano in Malta has given me some products to test out and one of the products was from their latest Sprint and Summer Collection called Dot shock. The collection is inspired from the 30’s polka dots, in which resembles summer back in the day. I remember seeing some Vintage 30’s dresses with red or blue with white polka dots. I always love me some polka dots 😀

Spring - Summer Collection 2016

The item I got is the gorgeous lipstick called Miss Pupa -Ultra bright lipstick in the shade 004. Like all their other products the packaging is simply superb, very sleep and stylish. It gives me the impression to be a very high end product. The 004 is the darkest shade of the bunch, a coral shade with a red tone, called Fancy Coral. It is smooth and creamy, and it looks like wearing a lip gloss but thankfully it is not sticky as they usually are. Which means your boyfriend wouldn’t be so bothered kissing you 😀 now that’s a plus.

Miss2

After testing this beauty a few times, I say that it also make my lips look more pouty than most creamy lipsticks (Jolie, Watch out 😛 ). Apart form that, I can vouch that It made my lips softer. I do think it has a moisturizing effect on my lips, cause even when I removed it, it left my lips quite soft and it doesn’t crease.

Miss3

The only downer is that if you eat or drink (like normal person would, not Kardashian style) it wont last long, however Pupa never mentions or advertised that it is long lasting. Other than that I really love this lipstick and its wet look, it reminds me that summer is near, and a bunch of bbq’s and days by the beach are on the way :D.

Miss1Miss4

This beauty costs for 13.50 which is pretty decent for such a lipstick and you can find it available in most pharmacies and perfumeries. I do suggest you check their facebook page for more info.

P.S This lipstick is also dermatologist tested with an SPF15 and paraben free

I hope you all liked this review, and keep posted for more

XOXO

I <3 Make Up - You're Gorgeous Palette by Make up Revolution

Hi there,

A while ago I did a bit of a shopping spree on the Make Up Revolution Website, and at that time they has this offer that with every buy that was over a certain amount ( which I do not remember) they gave out this palette with 2 of the Wow lip-glosses.

1

Images from the Make up Revolution Website

I am so glad they gave me this palette as it truly is my go to palette for everyday and much more. I wish to apologize that I don’t have any original pictures as mine is not in it’s prime shape as I used this palette frequently/

In the upper section of the palette you will find a variety of  10 matte natural colours, which include cream, browns and black. I simply love the matte colours, they  apply nicely and are perfect for everyday make-up.  Then below there are about 22 smaller, various shimmery colours from light to dark. I have to admit I am not really a fan of the shimmery shades, I find them a bit flaky and shed more than the others. But overall they are still a nice addition to the palette.

Pros:

  • Very nice black packaging
  •  The matte shadows are simply a must have
  •  It has all the colours you would need for everyday and even evening look
  • Ideal for travelling (I took this palette with me when I traveled to Italy and it was more than enough)
  • Very cheap and worth every penny

Cons:
• Not a big fan of the shimmer shades

Will I ever buy this product again? I probably will, I love using it for eveyday.

Do I recommend it? Definitely, I think it’s a must have especially if you’re on a tight budget.

Rating: 4/5

Would love to hear from your opinion, if you ever tried this product

Lots of Love

Sultry Purple – Make-Up Look

Hello Everyone,

A few months ago I posted this picture of myself on Instagram, this was me all dolled up before a wedding I attended with my boyfriend. I haven’t had many weddings this year, and it was a lovely opportunity to look and feel my best. The dress I wore was a simple but yet lovely purple dress, which got me inspired to do this look.  Everyone I know loved this look, and my new colleagues being  still unaware that I am an artist myself, thought I went to a professional make-up artist. I was however very flattered as it means I did a good job 🙂 2

  •  The eyes are the main focus of this look. I wanted to create a nice sultry smokey eyes, but still having a soft feel to it all.  Make up can entice you, but it can also put you off especially when it’s not done the right way.
  • I made sure that the inner corner of the eyes where a light colour, then mixed a couple of purple and violet shades together to create a nice mid tone colour. Finishing off with a deeper purple colour and black shadow and blend it all with a brown shadow in between the crease and the brow bone.
  • Of course a nicely done winged eyeliner, some mascara and fake lashes will complete the eyes.
  • For the lips I used a nude pink tone lip liner and lipstick and as for the cheeks a peachy toned blusher does wonders with a purple look.

Off We go :D

Hey guys,

As you know this week I will be in London, and I wanted to show you the Make-up I will be taking with me. I am super excited to go to London as I have been dreaming to go for a long time. Being that it’s a holiday I won’t be taking a lot of Make-up with me, all I care is for mostly to have fun and visit this beautiful city. For a holiday, I believe in taking one product for each use, also try to avoid taking expensive make-up with you because it might break with travelling and you don’t want that. So this is my list:

1

Primer- MUA undress your skin primer – this is not my favorite primer but it is a good primer and it comes in a small packing and pump which is the best for travelling.

Foundation – Vicky Dermablend in no 35 – I love this foundation too much, little goes a long way and it gives a lovely finish.

ConcealerMake up store cover all concealer – Even-though I really don’t need it because the foundation is so good I thought of still getting this great concealer with me as it also stay on for a long time.

Eye-shadowThe MUA undressed palette and the white matte colour by Make-up store. The undressed palette is a small compact palette with all the colours you can possibly need to wear for day time or even a night out. I am also taking a large matte white eye-shadow because I used all of the ones in the Palette and you always need a white colour.

Eyeliner- NYX curve liner. I haven’t reviewed this liner yet but I will let you on a little secret, I love it and it is jsut perfect for travelling.

Contouring BronzerThe elf contouring bronzer. It is quite pigmented bronzer so I don’t need to use a lot of product and little goes a long way.

Blusher Mac breezy sheertone blusher. I love this blusher and it’s perfect for this season , it pigmented and buildable.

HighlighterMUA undress your skin highliter. I have to be honest I don’t need a highlighter but I just love this highlighter, it gives such a natural glow to the cheeks.

Mascara- Revlon Grow luscious lashes. I haven’t reviewed this mascara yet but it is surprising very good and have been loving it so far.

Lipstick- I am taking the

2

That is pretty much it when it comes to make-up products now with regards to application, I couldn’t go without taking my beloved brushes.I have a mixture of foundation and concealer brushes, to apply the eye-shadow and also for contouring and to apply the blusher.  There are also a pair o scissors and tweezers for my brows.

Well that is all guys I do hope you have a great week, I will see you again next Sunday, in the mean time you can keep posted though Instagram and Twitter. 😀

MUA Haul – Undress Your Skin Primer

Hey guys,

So I thought I should finally start reviewing the products I got from MUA Academy. This was the first time I ever bought anything from them and I am quite pleased overall with the products. Being that MUA academy and E.l.f have a very similar price range I was comparing the make up and the service with each other. I find that the shipping and delivery is not as professional as the E.L.F company. I ordered product from E.L.F a MUA on the same day but the Mua arrived about a week later than the Elf products. Also I wasn’t impressed how they packaged the products. The E.L.F have a nicer and safer packaging in a box with paper for protection and padding while the MUA were send into a thick paper bag. Some of the Mua Products were protected with cellophane which is good but most of the other products weren’t.

Well enough about the packaging let’s talk about the products. I bought the undress your skin range  for a very cheap price which include a primer, foundation, under-eye concealer and a highlighter. Being that the primer is what we usually apply first of all, will start by talking about the primer in this post.

DSC01164

The primer comes in a cute packaging with a nice white pump which it very easy to use an works well, unlike the e.l.f primer. Once you apply it on, you can feel the silicone texture which does wonders to the application of your foundation.  The feeling is very similar to the  mousse L’Oreal studio line primer. However the downfall is that it does nothing to make my makeup last longer.

DSC01172 DSC01170

So will I buy this primer again? Not sure, probably not because It didn’t make my make-up last longer but it does give a nice layer to protect the skin and make application easier. I hope you enjoyed this review and thank you for following

xoxo
