Elemis Skincare Launch Event

Hello Beauties,

Today I will talk about a nice event I was invited, for the New outlet that has opened of the UK skincare brand called Elemis. I honestly, didn’t know about the brand until now but it was definitely a nice discovery.

Elemis is known to be a very high-end brand which focus combining the latest science, nature and aromatics. It has been known to sell mostly around crew-ships, spa’s and a beauty salons. Another fun fact that is that most of their products have Padina Pavonica which is a type of Algae found in the Mediterranean sea, very close to our lovely Island of Malta.  This Algea is found to have effective anti-ageing benefits, as it moisturizes and helps the elasticity and firmness of the skin.

At the Event we got to test out the products and even got a nice hand massage using their lovely Frangipani Manoi Salt exfoliator and the same range of body lotion. Getting that hand massage was the hype of my day, the scrub smelled delicious and the massage was utterly relaxing and it left my hands feeling very soft.

The products have a really elegant packaging and the texture of each product felt amazing. Having tried a variety of skin care over the years, I could feel the richness of each product. The brand itself is clearly targeted towards older women, that want to take more care of their skin and are willing to spend a little more money to look and feel great.

13233114_519000804968623_5302574761149459548_nSince I am in my late 20’s, and it is time to take more care of my skin, it is good to know that such products are now more available in Malta.

Do it yourself: Manicure

M1Hello guys,

Well today post is a little bit different than usual, however it still has a lot to do with beauty. Recently my nails are a bit of a mess, and I honestly feel ashamed to have them looking so bad. My nails have never been thick, mostly because of my years of nail biting. It’s been 2 years since I stopped biting them and they have improved a lot, yet unfortunately they are still very thin and break very easily. Before the manicure my nails where all in different lengths, and they didn’t look one bit pretty. So I decided to give myself a manicure, and show you how to do it yourself. It is very easy just follow my steps.

M3

1 First step is to remove any bits of nail polish you might have left with a Nail polish remover. The one I used is from Kiko.

2 Second step is to dab your fingers into warm water for about 10 minutes. This will make your nails will be softer, which is ideal for when you need to file them.

M4

3 Next step is to file your nails, make sure to file them in one direction. The was my biggest mistake when I was younger I used to file them in both directions, which is why my nails are a mess. Also try to give them the same length.

4 Use a cuticle oil and apply and massage it one each nail, so that the nails will absorb it well. I used the Mavala Cuticle oil, it is seriously one of the best. Also if you have a cuticle remover ( not sure what it is actually called), push the cuticle inwards. Unfortunately I couldn’t find one so I used my nails instead.

M5

5 Step five I applied some hand lotion, and let the hand absorb it well. I have quite a selection of hand creme but I decided to use the Dr.Organic hand and nail cream, because it is very moisturizing and ideal for nails.

6 Before applying any sort of nail polish, I made sure to remove and moisturizer that there might have been on the nails. As it might not help with the application.

7 Apply any base coat or hardener depends on the state of your nails. Being that I need a nail hardener I applied the Sally Hanson Miracle nail thickener. Not sure if I like the hardener over my usual OPI Nail envy but I will give it a shot. If you don’t need a hardener just apply a base coat, then any coloured nail polish you wish and finally a top coat.  This will make your nail polish last longer.

Well that is all for today DIY manicure, I hope you enjoyed this post and you found it helpful. If you need any help feel free to ask. Try to find time for yourself and make sure you take care of yourselves.

Bio Oil – Review

Today I want to talk about a product I’ve been using a lot and sincerely loving. Since I was a teenager I had problems with stretchmarks, the same way I had problems with my weight. I constatly gained and lost weight and stretch marks were the result of it all.  Recently I’ve been taking care of my body and trying to avoid having more stretchmarks than I already do, so I am using this Bio Oil.

Bio1

I bought Bio Oil from the Uk the first time and I they are way cheaper than here in Malta, however it depends where you get them from and how much product you have. I do know that Holland and Barret sell them however I am not sure about the pricing. I will check and update you guys.

“Bio‑Oil is a specialist skincare oil that helps improve the appearance of scars, stretch marks and uneven skin tone.
It is also effective for ageing and dehydrated skin. The Bio‑Oil formulation is a combination of plant extracts and vitamins suspended in an oil base. It contains the breakthrough ingredient PurCellin Oil?, which changes the formulation?s overall consistency, making it light and non-greasy, ensuring that the goodness contained in the vitamins and plant extracts is easily absorbed.”

Bio-Oil should be massaged in a circular motion into the scar and surrounding skin, twice daily, for a minimum of 3 months. Younger scars have a greater chance of improvement within a shorter time period, however, older scars will also benefit from the regular use of Bio-Oil.

Bio2

I have been using Bio Oil for the last 2 months or so and I’ve seen a huge improvement. The scars haven’t completely gone but more of the scars have faded away. I will keep on applying in the hopes of having other scars fade and be less visible especially in summer. The oil is transparent and it is absorbed quickly onto the skin.I highly recommend this product for stretch marks as it truly does the work and it’s not that expensive as some other products I’ve seen on the market.

Bio3

We all know that Pregnancy can cause stretchmarks, however if you are planning on losing weight and you have increased your fitness level try to apply this sort of oil to preserve the skin and prevent it from causing stretchmarks.

If you have any questions about this product do write in the comments below, show some love by liking my page and following this blog 😀

Nail Care

Hey guys,

So recently I read a post on the daily mail how gels and acrylics can be harming your nails constantly, which is true. They might look pretty on the surface, but underneath your nails are probably suffering.  My nails were a mess when I removed my acrylics, they were chipping all the time and they had become very sensitive. My nails were so thin, I could almost feel the skin underneath.  Then I started taking care of nails, once I removed the acrylics and did a lot of treatment and stopped biting them. I was always a nail biter so gels and acrylics were my only remedy for me to stop biting them, but all i was doing is harming them even more.

N1

After a lot of treatment my nails have gotten way better, they still need a lot of help and more treatment, but I am very happy with them right now. I never seen my natural nails this long and looking so healthy, so the treatment really payed off.

Tips to get healthier stronger nails:

  • If you are a nail biter, Stop biting your nails, if i did it, so can you.
  • My nails are way healthier thanks to the O.P.I nail envy, it is really a miracle worker. I apply several coats throughout the week.
  • Do not result to gels or acrylics, is it such a waste of money. Nowadays there are very good nail polishes or even gelish that last for a whole week, and not do any harm to the nails. If you have strong and hard nails, go ahead but still it will damage your nails on the long run. Or else get them done one in while
  • I do highly suggest you stop wear nail polish from time to time if you have thin nails, let them breathe for a while. I love wearing nail polishes but then I stop wearing any, for a week or two and give them a nice Nail Envy coat.
  • Make sure to give them a nice filing and buffing, at least once a week or 2 and use cuticle oil if u have.

If you follow these steps and be extremly patient you will have great results in about 2 or 3 weeks. It took me a while to see the results, but it was all worth it.

I hope this was of any help, if you have any further questions, comment down below 🙂

Event : Phillip Kingsley London Launch in Malta

This week I was invited to this Exclusive Launch of the Phillip Kingley London hair care products. Being that they haven’t been selling in Malta before now, I didn’t know much about this brand, but I did hear about it on various Magazines and beauty blogs. It is widely known in the UK and in America, not only by hairdressers but even by celebrities like Kate Winslet, John Travolta, Lucy Liu and and much more.

1

We had a quick presentation of the products for which we were explained the study being these products and what are the products for. It was really interesting to see how much study there is behind each product. Their particular aim is not only to have healthy hair but also to have a healthy scalp. Even-though the products are more targeted to hairstylist to use in their Salon but I think they can be great for anyone at home that want to pamper their hair with some quality product.

2

Their products have won great awards by well know magazines like , Harper’s Bazaaar, GQ, and In style magazine for being the best hair treatments out there. I have to admit their Elastisizer has truly caught my eye, as it is highly reviewed.

After the presentation, she demonstrated how the products should be applied and even how to massage the clients during the treatment.  FWI All of us beauty bloggers were really jealous of the model, as we definitely wanted a massage ourselves :D. Then we were given some nice sample of the Phillip Kingley’s shampoo and conditioner, which I might add, they smell lovely.

3

Then we ended the event with some nibbles and a drink with my other fellow bloggers. I truly enjoyed the event and it is truly nice to see new brands make it to our lovely small Island.

P.S At moment the Phillip Kingley products aren’t available in Malta yet as they are waiting on stock, however once they arrive you will be the first to know 🙂 Keep posted as I have some great events coming up and Halloween make up looks.

Anatomicals – Headache Relief Balm

Hello there the weekend is here :),

Today I want to talk about this awesome product called Headache Relief Balm by Anatomicals. I have to warn you that you might be prepared to make a purchase after reading this review, because you are going to want it. I think we all have headaches at some point in time, if it’s after a long day at work or because of school stress, they are bound to happen. Little did I know that there is a simple, cheap cure for them, which is this balm by Anatomicals.

h1

Pros:

  • Funny and quirky packaging and it constantly put a smile on my face.
  • It does relieve the pain. It contains natural ingredients such as peppermint oil and is a clear balm. When I felt a headache coming on, I quickly popped a little amount of product onto each temple and hoped for the best. After roughly a minute I began to feel a very cooling sensation despite putting a very small amount of the balm on.
  • It’s not going to do a miracle and take all the pain away but it will definitely make you feel a lot better.
  • I also hear that the oily residue is great for the skin, even for after sun burns
  • It also retails for the cheap amount of €4.99, and it will last you for a good amount of time.

h2

Cons:

  • Even-though it’s isn’t much of a con, the balm has an oily resedue, which can leave a bit of an oily stain but being that it helps with the pain, I wouldn’t bother that much. Being that my forehead can be a bit oily, I prefer to remove it after the soothing feeling is over. But if you have a dry skin I would leave it, as it has a nice moisturizing texture and smell.

h3

Will I ever buy this product again? I think I will,

Do I recommend it? I do highly recommend it, so go ahead and buy it 🙂 www.anatomicals.com.mt and check their facebook page here. You can find it also in various pharmacies around Malta too.
