MAC Retro Matte – Ruby Woo Lipstick

Nothing can explain my love for this particular lipstick. No review can give justice to such a lipstick. Yes I am falling in love with a lipstick, I might sound crazy but you have to give it a shot to test how good it is.

1

Well I bought the Ruby woo because recently I have heard a lot about it, being that it is very similar to the Lipstick Rihanna launched with MAC, called Riri Woo. I couldn’t find a good price for Riri woo but I did find a good price for Ruby woo, so I got it. I tested it out about a month ago, as I went for some drinks with my girls. I drank, I eat, and I drank some more an this lipstick stayed put all night. I was so impressed, I never had a lipstick which I didn’t have to reapply in a few hours. It stayed put for over 5 hrs If I recall so that is definitely a 5 star when it comes to longevity. It also doesn’t stain the teeth as it happens with most red lipsticks, and I even noticed it doesn’t stain glasses, when I drink.

The colour is a gorgeous red matte lipstick, it doesn’t have an orange tint like most red lipsticks, it is just perfectly matte red. It reminds me of how it was back in the 50’s, I felt like I was channeling my inner Marilyn Monroe. 🙂 Of course the pigmentation is just divine but unfortunately it can be a little bit drying on the lips, so for winter you definitely need to wear a lip balm underneath.

Apart from the colour, I love M.A.C lipstick packaging, being in one of my favorite colour, Black. I also can’t get enough of the lovely smell all M.A.C lipsticks have. If you love red lipsticks, this is definitely a lipstick you have to have.

Well that all for now, I think I shared enough love for this lipstick :P. What do you think about this gorgeous lipstick ? Have you ever tried it?

Helena Bonham Carter – Vogue- Inspired Make-up Look

Helena Bonham Carter is a truly exceptional women in her own dark way. I love the mixture of Goth and Vintage style she has. Even-though I wouldn’t agree on most of her fashion choices, I do love that she is true to herself and doesn’t let anyone change her. I do believe she is a great actress and that doesn’t mind looking weird or ugly for the sake of playing an awesome character.

However for Vogue she looked her gorgeous true self in these goth and vintage photos. So I thought of channeling my inner Helena and do a make up look, inspired by this shoot.

The make up look is very simple and very much 50’s style. The eyes are very natural with a touch of brown to contour the eyes and some dark fake lashes. The face is very pale with a tinge of bronzer to highlight the cheeks, while the main focus is on the dark red lips.

This look is very synonym with what is in vogue nowadays. Make-up nowadays has been giving a lot of focus on the lips rather than on the eyes. We are seeing a lot of red lips this summer and I have to admit, I am truly loving it.

Well I do hope you like this look, if you do either like or comment down below, thank you for following.

It’s all about the Lips

One of Summer’s make-up trends is wearing very simple and neutral eye-shadow while having lovely bright, bold colored lips. It is however very important to be careful with regards to what colors should you choose. Pink and Red colours look great on all skin tones but there are various types of pinks and reds, so make sure you are picking the right colour.

  • For fair skin: coral reds or dark reds with pink undertones.
  • For medium or olive skin: pink and cranberry shades, and brick reds.
  • For dark skin: reds with burgundy or brown tones.

Matte lipsticks are pretty much in vogue nowadays. I haven’t seen a catwalk model wearing a glossy a lipstick. I love a matte lipstick, it looks gorgeous on the lips without showing too much. I used to be scared wearing red lips when I was younger because I had the idea of it not looking good on me or making me look older. If you chose the right colour, it won’t make you older, and it won’t look bad.

This summer is enabling us to be creative and colorful with make-up, so let’s enjoy this time and do the best we can with it. 🙂

Make up Trends this Spring

Hey guys,

As someone which loves make-up a lot, it is important to keep myself updated with the new styles and trends every season.  Spring is finally here and I did my research on what is in Vogue right now and what was seen on the runway.

Red Signals

At first, it seemed like spring would be a season of pale lips. At Prada, makeup queen Pat McGrath went for a matte crimson, outlining the outermost part of lips in red pencil that accentuated the shape of the mouth (tip: this makes lips look bigger and fuller). All told, the season’s rouges ranged from pinky-red at Missoni and Oscar de la Renta to the classic power red at Jean Paul Gaultier to the dark and dramatic black cherry at Jonathan Saunders, proving the enduring appeal of being in the red. Not much is going on with the eyes as it is very natural to extenuate the lips.

Eyeliner In Full Effect

Ever since the cat-eye trend hit last year, eyeliner has become a newfound essential.  It’s a downtown look that went a bit uptown at Chanel where makeup artist Peter Philips created striking contrast with his jet black liner by swiping on a platinum shadow over the lids, giving us inspiration for how to dress up a few simple strokes for day to night

Lush Lashes

60’s are back from the inky, Twiggy-like fringe seen at Gaultier to the curled and combed up look at Gucci, it’s time to have fun with your lashes this season. For the beauty adventurous, look to the chic-clumpy variety at VĂ©ronique Leroy, and our favorite, the heavy lashes offset with white liner—and nails to match—at Moschino.

The Bold And Beautiful Brows

Strong brows proved their staying power again. At Etro, makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury went for a “fresh, clean” nineties-inspired look, which she created by filling in with M.A.C.’s Eye Brow pencils in Fling and Lingering. Meanwhile Estée Lauder Creative Makeup Director Tom Pecheux enhanced the arches of stunners like Arizona Muse at Anthony Vaccarello with the Estée Lauders’s Automatic Brow Pencil Duo in Soft Brown. A handy pro tip: brush brow hairs down to find your natural shape, then fill in sparse areas with a pencil, using short, feathery strokes to shape and even out the contours of your brows.

Seeing Blue And Green

A Mediterranean influence swept the shows, as makeup artists dabbed their eye makeup brushes in shades of turquoise, jade and vibrant aqua. Even though the references supposedly ranged from the psychedelic sixties at Moschino Cheap and Chic to bejeweled butterflies at Gucci, the look wasn’t too wild or extreme for the every day wearer. Try a thin streak of green eyeliner seen at Stella McCartney or Kenzo, a saturated smear of sapphire on the base of lids like at Versus, or a color-blocked etching of royal blue or teal a la Fendi. And for those moments of all-out glamour, place a few sparkles around your eyes like a Gucci model if you dare.

These are the trends this season from bright lips to heavy eyeliner, big brows, fake lashes and colorful eyes. What I noticed is in every look is mostly natural but then they transform each look with something bold like red lips or a bright eye colour.

That is all for now guys but keep posted as I will posted something interesting later on 🙂
