Pupa Milano – Navy Chic Spring Collection – Matic Sylo Eyeshadow in 002

Hello dear readers,

Not sure if you follow the amazing brand Pupa Milano, but as Spring came about, they launched their Spring Collection called Navy Chic. The collection includes beautiful bright and bold colours from eyeshadows lipstick and nail polishes. I simply cannot get over the yellow nail polish or that beautiful red lipstick from this collection.  Even-though spring is almost over I am sure this collection will look great for this Summer aswell. Unfortunately I might be a little bit late with this review, but I always love to test a product as much as I can before giving a final review, so please bare with me.

Pupa Milano in Malta gave me the Matic Sylo eyeshadow stick in Taupe which is a lovely colour to use a medium tone. This Matic Stylo is available in 4 different colours the oo1 Golden rose, 002 Taupe, 003 Wisteria, 004 Silver. The eye shadow is very creamy and is applied like a dream. It feels very wet and refreshing on the eyes, the feeling is very similar to that once you get out of the shower. The awesome thing about this shadow is it doesn’t smudge nor crease. What is pretty impressive about all of the Pupa products is how long they last and this is not an exception.

Pros:

  • Functional Packaging, easy to apply
  • creamy and refreshing formula
  • Does not smudge or crease
  • Long lasting for up to 5hrs

Cons:

  • I have really nothing bad to say about this product.

Will I ever buy this product again? Probably, I love the texture of these shadows and them being so long lasting

Do I recommend it? For sure, I personally think this is a great addition to anyone’s  make-up bag

Have you bought any for these fabulous shadows from their spring collection?

Malta Fashion Awards 2014

This has been one of the best Malta Fashion Weeks in history. I am glad that even though I didn’t get to be involved as much as I should have (partly being my fault), I still got to enjoy some of the most beautiful Maltese designs in one night, at the Awards show.

I was really unsure if to apply for the media pass or not, and when I decided to give it a go, it was too late. However after a great show last night, I am truly excited for the year to come.

The show was professionally executed,  and it was nice seeing such a high level standard of models, make-up artists and hairstylist which did a great job throughout the whole show. Some of the designs I have seen are worth international recognition and in the end I felt proud of what Malta has to offer.  Throughout the show their were various shows from renowned designers like Caroline Hili, Charles and Ron and Gagliardi to new designers and various hair stylist.

Being and Art and Design student myself, I was so Happy to see a lot of new Designers and Photographers that were either my class mates or in the same institute as I was. One of which was Rosemarie Abela which won best new designer with her Japanese inspired collection.  I also loved seeing new names in the Make-up world to which the Award went to Mateja Camilleri.  Apart from that I was happy to see a blogger fashion award to whom it went for the fashionista Daniel Azzoppardi.  There were of course other important awards to various male and female models, however being  a Make-up artist, beauty blogger and fashion lover, those are the awards which have definitely struck a cord.

Here are some images of the designs which I particularly liked throughout the show. There were many beautiful designs so I will not fit them all, however here are some: Photography by Fritz Photography Malta.

Well I hope you enjoyed this post, later on today or tomorrow I will post the Make-up look I did for the Awards show and what I wore.

MET GALA 2014 – Best Dressed

I could not let such an important event pass by without stating my opinion. It is after all the most important Event in fashion history and this years theme Charles James: Beyond Fashion and there was a mention of “decorations”. Charles James was an amazing designer back in the day, he was one of the firsts to design hot couture garments which were very dramatic, feminine and yet classy.  Let’s start with the best dressed of the night,  they are in no particular order so go ahead and pick your favorite.

Beyonce

Beyonce wore this beautiful shimmery and sheer black gown by Givenchy. What makes this dress unique is the fabric, it is simply devine, I personally didn’t like the peplum but other than than it is simply fantastic.

Beyonce looks flawless in a gorgeous black beaded Givenchy gown

Kim Kardashian

Finally Kim got it right in this beautiful blue and black Lanvin dress. Last year it was a disaster with that floral hilarious gown, so this year she definitely made up for it.  It truly hugged her curves in the write places without looking slutty. So well done Kim.

What happened in that limo ride? Kim Kardashian switched out her shoes and belt as she lost the leather cuffs en route to the Met Gala

Blake Lively

This Gucci dress on Blake’s Lively immaculate body looked exceptional. She looked like a true Hollywood star, the dress hair and make up screamed Hollywood. The dress hugs her beautiful body in all the right places that makes me insanely jealous of her. 😛

Striking: Blake Lively wore a champagne coloured sequined gown from Gucci

Rihanna

I don’t usually like what Rihanna wears but she definitely looked fabulous in this white Stella McCarthney dress. It highlights her caramel tones torso while still being elegant and chic.

Rihanna's sweeping statement gown featured a bold cut out which showed off her enviable stomach, but maintained an elegant overall look with long sleeves and an embellished high neck

Cara Delevigne

Cara is a young and vibrant model, so I wouldn’t have imagined anyone else to pull off this look. The outfit is also by Stella McCarthney and even though I wouldn’t have imagined it for the MET gala, with her body and well done hair and some nice jewelry she truly pulled it off.

Cara shows off her tiny frame in a gorgeous outfit by British designer Stella McCartney

Giselle Bunchen

I am in love with lace, so of course this Balenciaga dress is definitely one of my favorites. I think black on a light complexion looks flawless and sexy, so thumps up Giselle.

 Amber Heard

This Giambattista Valli dess looked gorgous on Amber, I do think she looked a bit pale with this dress but I can’t deny that it fits her to perfection.

Amber Heard looked stunning in a Giambattista Valli dress with Fred Leighton jewellery on the arm of fiance Johnny Depp who jazzed up his Ralph Lauren tux with a cane and golden pocket watch

There were many beautiful dress but these are the dresses that truly caught my attention. I will do another quick post of my least favorites and that shall be hilarious :P, so keep posted guys 🙂

Would love your opinion of what is your favorite dress

Coccinelle Malta Event

About two weeks ago I was invited to the Even Coccinelle hosted in their stylish store.  They came up with this great idea of giving 3 gorgeous hanbags from their new Spring Summer Collection to be won to their clients. What I simply loved was their originality of creating such an event, which was to give each guest a Key and if they were lucky it would open one of their 3 boxes that contained the handbags.

3

I was given a key but unfortunately, luck was not on my side but I still got to view their gorgeous new collection. I seriously wanted to take every bag from their store but being that I recently bought a car I am on a very tight budget. However I can’t wait to afford buying a gorgeous new handbag from their store.

The store was stylish as always, and they even made the guest feel like celebrities by caving a red carpet and some music on. The collection is simply beautiful, it has all you need from small purses to huge shopping bags in all the beautiful bright colours spring can offer.  They even gave us a the cutest and yummiest vanilla cookies with their logo on as a consolation price.

Well done to Coccinelle for this fun event, may there be more to come. If you are looking for some stylish and great quality italian leather handbags look nowhere else. You will find thier fabulous store at  11 Tower Road, Sliema.

Urban Decay – Naked 3 – Eye-shadow palette

N1

I am really excited to finally start reviewing this so well known palette by Urban Decay, which all make-up geeks and beauty gurus have and should have. I probably should warn you this will be a pretty long review, but it will definitely help you visualize and know more about the product, especially if you intent to purchase.  As I was cruising in London at the House of Fraser stores last year, I came by the Urban Decay section and of course I had to buy the Naked palette. At first I was unsure if to buy the original Naked or Naked 2 palette, being that the 3 wasn’t out yet. The colours of the Naked 2 palette really appealed to me more than the original Naked palette, even-though they are quite similar.

N2

I have to admit that the Naked 2 is pretty much a phenomenal value, it consist of 12 eyeshadows, a lovely two sides brush and a small lip gloss. It is packaged in a bronzed metal tin that can be opened and closed very easily, which is a great way of protecting the shadows. I haven’t had any problem with the opening or ripping of the packaging and it does feel pretty secure. The brush is pretty nice to, the bristles are very soft and great for application. I do tend to forget that I have it, which reminds that I should probably place it next to my other brushes.

Now lets talk about the colours:

N3

Foxy is like matte yellowed beige colour, it is on the sheer side and a bit powedery. This colour is barely visable in my forearm however it can work for highlighting the brow on light complexions.

Half baked is a beautiful coppery-golden brown shimmery colour, it has a good color payoff and a smooth texture.

Booty call is a white-beige shimmery colour, it has a good colour payoff and i love using it for the brows or as a base.

Chopper is a  shimmery coppery-orange colour. This shade has a pretty good colour payoff however the sparkle is prone to fall out.

Tease is a dirty mauve-brown colour with a matte finish. I really like the shade as I have nothing which looks anything like it, however the pay off is a little bit disappointing being that the texture is a bit dry and stiff. You really have to jab at it with the bristles of your brush to loosen enough product to apply it.

Snakebite is a a dark bronze with a dirty golden shimmer-sheer. I love using this color for contouring, as it isn’t too dark but neither light.  The texture is dense and buttery and an excellent color payoff.

Suspect is a champagne-bronze colour with a metallic sheen. It has a good colour payoff eventhough it felt a bit powdery.

Pistol is dark grey- brown colour with a shimmer sheer. The texture of the pistol is soft and smooth and it has a good payoff.

Verve is a pale silver grey colour with a pink tinge.

YDK is a warm , coppery medium brown with a frosted finish. I love its smooth texture and the pigmentation is pretty good.

Busted is a dark burgundy-tinted brown colour with golden undertones. The finish is very soft and frosted. The colour payoff is very good and the texture is very smooth though a little less dense.

Blackout is a really intense, matte deep dark black colour. The pigmentation is great and it goes on very black.

Naked lip-gloss is a sheer neutral brownish pink colour. The gloss is not that sticky and has a lovely mint scent

N5

Pros:

  • Great packaging, its sleep, sturdy and very secure
  • It is a really wonderful and well-rounded palette, with a good range of light to dark colour in a variet of finishes.
  • The majority of the shades are very pigmented, easy to apply, and blend.
  • The brush is very soft and lovely to work with
  • It is good value for money
  • Great for travelling

Cons:

  • Some of the colours aren’t as pigmented as most of the other colours
  • It is a bit pricey for anyone that doesn’t have such a budge, however I do think it worth every penny. I do

N4

Will I ever buy this product again? Definitely, I find it very handy for natural make-up looks and for travelling.

Do I recommend it? For sure, the palette has some good range of colours and the pay off is impeccable. If however this palette is out of your budget I do suggest you try the MUA Undressed palette, the colours are very similar and it is way cheaper. I do however suggest you invest in this beauty, as it has defiantly a lot more product and better quality, than the Undress me palette.

Anatomicals -Help the paw- Vitamin Rich Hand Cream

Anatomicals have taken Malta by storm, and there are three simple reasons why this is happening. They have great quality products, which are cool and even cheap, what else could we want ? Today I will review their popular hand cream called Help the paw – Vitamin rich hand cream. I have been testing this product for a while now and it truly keeps my hands well hydrated and a tiny bit goes a long way.

C1

It comes in a 100ml tube, with a hilarious tagline like all of their other products. If you think about it, it is actually so true, they do want me for my body :P. I can’t quite put my finger on the scent, I think is a bit lemon-ish, but it could be something else. The important thing is that it smells nice and the scent its not too strong. It contains vitamin E and sweet almond oil, which is there to nourish and soften the skin.  Some creams tent to be too runny or take a long time to dry, but “help the paw” is very light and it is absorbed very easily. I do suggest that you don’t apply a huge amount as it can have a quick moment of stickiness, but if  you rub it in a bit further it will go away.

C2

C3

Pros:

  • Fast absorbing
  • non-greasy
  • smells lush
  • packaging is really funky
  • A little goes a long way
  • Very cheap, it retails for €5.50

C4

Cons:

  • None really

Will I ever buy this product again? Definately, it truly keeps my hands hydrated and smooth.

Do I recommend it? Definitely, it good, cheap and it helps my paws 😛

Pupa Milano – Vamp Cream Eyeshadow 002

Today I will review another Pupa Milano product from the Pupa Princess Limited edition. This time it’s their creamy eyeshadow in 002 shiny green. It  comes in this elegant small round jar with a plastic lid. I am simply in love with it’s creamy texture, I don’t usually go for cream eye-shadow because they are usually a bit sticky and  tend to fade away after a while or else leave visible lines.  However the texture is very nice and not sticky, and it still looks pretty good after a few hours without any lines. This eyeshadow retails for €9.75 which is neither cheap nor expensive, however I do think is good value for money. I have been using it for a while now and it’s still as good as new.

E2

I simply love using my fingers to apply this eye-shadow, however it can still be used easily with a brush.  What I love doing with this shadow is apply it on the inner corner of the eyes or else on the middle of the lid, it creates such a nice effect. Do check my make-up look called Winter blues, for which I used this lovely shadow.

E3

Pros:

  • Great sturdy packaging
  • Beautiful pearl/metallic colour, very much in vogue nowadays
  • Creamy texture and doesn’t leave any visible lines
  • Long lasting
  • Good value for money

E1

Cons:

  • There is nothing in particular that I don’t like about this shadow, it simply delivers

If you are interested in buying this shadow, hurry up as this is a limited edition. However I am sure you will be able to find it in leading pharmacies around Malta, Italy and various other countries around Europe.  Let me know what you think about this product if you ever tried it, by commenting down below. Show some love my liking my Facebook or  following me through e-mail.

Will I ever buy this product again? Probably I love it’s metallic and pearl texture, you can create some interesting looks with it.

Do I recommend it? Definitely, what you see is exactly what you get with this shadow.

Versace Spring Collection 2014 – Black, Lace and Rock and Roll

Recently I have become utterly obsessed with what’s new in the fashion world. I feel like a young kid again, looking at the beautiful gowns that I clearly couldn’t and still can’t afford, and steal some of the other designer idea and create outfits myself. Being an interior and product designer myself, I always looked at fashion as a beautiful way to express your inner self. One of my favourite designer has to be Versace, I simply love their elegant way of dressing, feminine but still edgy.

This spring their collection revolves around the black colour, laced fabric with a rock and roll attitude. There are also a bit of colour blocking with the use of flower patterns and even edgy designs. What I love about Versace also is how their designed are are form fitting, extenuating every womanly curve.

Primark – £1 Lipsticks

Hello guys 🙂
A while ago in London, as I was waiting after a long line to try some of the clothes I picked at Primark, there was this beauty section full of cute make-up products and pretty stuff. Being of course the beautyholic that I am, I had to pick a few items from there and I got these 3 beautiful lipsticks and a bronzing powder. There were some other products, like small nail polishes, and cute lipglosses into the shape of a cupcake and even mascaras and eyeliners but they didn’t impress me much.
1

I chose 4 colours, not sure if they had more colours, but if they did’t take more because I either didn’t like colour or probably have something similar.  Unfortunately they have no names on them so I made names for them myself. 1 The ” Flirty Fushia” is another lovely pink colour more on the darker side, it transfer pretty well and it can be worn in any season. The “Orangy Red” is another lovely orange-red colour, reminds me of the NYX coral colour I have, but this one is shimmer and not matte. 3 The  “Barbie Pink” is a very bright pink, which unlike what it looks like in tube itself it’s a very light pink. I really like this color and would definitely prefer it on me in Summer rather than in Winter for some reason.  4 Last but not least the “Pinky Purple”, this colour is a mixture of pink and purple fused together into one gorgeous colour, I don’t have anything like this colour in my collection, it very pretty. A perfect colour for Winter and would look gorgeous in Summer too. The Flirty Fushia and Pinky Purple are very similar but the Pinky purple is lightly darker.

3

Pros:

  • I am pretty impressed with the quality of these lipstick for it’s cheap price.
  • They are creamy and most of the transfer pretty well
  • The darker colours have some pretty staying power. They don’t have the staying power as great brands like MAC but they are as good as any other drugstore brands I have tried.
  • Did I mention they only cost for £1, that pretty ridiculous. They are as good as some of the lipsticks I have tried from some other drugstore and wayy cheaper.

2

Cons:
  • I honestly would give this product any cons being that it’s ridiculously cheap, but I have to say the lid comes off very easily, so be careful how to you store them or how you put them if your handbag.

Will I ever buy this product again? Definitely, if I’m ever in London again for sure, I love the colors and they are so cheap.

Do I recommend it? I recommend it to anyone, they are very good for their inexpensive price, I used them all the time.

Grammy Awards 2014 – The Good and the Ugly

Hello fashion and beauty lovers,

Being that my Golden globes fashion posts did a hit, I thought of talking about my favourite musical event, the Grammy’s. To be honest I was expecting more from the Grammys fashion wise, the Golden globes really left me speechless, there was so much to see, but the Grammys left me a bit disappointed.  I was expecting more, and some celebrities to stand out, anyway let’s start with the best dressed of the night.

BEST DRESSED:

1

Taylor Swift looks stunning in this silver metallic Gucci dress. It does fit her like a glove and it looked amazing on her.

Taylor Swift, Grammy Awards

2

To be honest I wasn’t really a fan of this dress but it kind of grew on me and she does look stunning. I simple love the white lace but not really a fan of the recent nude sheer trend however the cut looks divine on the bootiliscous diva.

'She's TINY!' Michael Costello, who designed the white lace dress Beyoncé wore to the Grammy awards on Sunday night, has revealed the singer is now a tiny size 2 (UK size 6)

3

Ciara looked gorgeous in this silver, metallic lace dress by Pucci. That is one way to wear a baby bump and still looking great.

4

This is definitely one of my favourites dresses of the night. Chrissy Tiegan looked exceptional in this Johanna Johnson metallic dress, however John Legend did look dapper in his Gucci suit.

Grammys 2014: John Legend and Chrissy Teigen walk the red carpet.

5

Ariana Grande looked really pretty in the floral Dolce and Gabbana dress, very suitable for a young girl her age. Still very elegant and pretty.

6

Amber rose in beautiful Naeem Khan gown looked perfect for a night at the Oscars. This beautiful gold and while dress truly gave justice to her curvaceous body.

6

Yay finally Paula Patton makes it in my best dressed list. This is definitely better than the disastrous Golden Globes dress. Many people didn’t like it but I felt it complemented her body and the print suits her really well. Well done.

7

Not a big fan of this dress but did green Lanvin metalic dress does look great on Rita Ora.

8

Let’s give it up to the Men of the night, Kevin Hart looked great in this lovely suit by Lanvin. I am simply in love with the blazer print.

9

Jay Z looked dapper in the elegant Tom Ford suit, this guys does look good in anything.

NOT SO GOOD NOT SO BAD:

1

This Valentino Couture dress is beautiful and honestly someone that loves music would lvoe to wear it, but this is not a dress someone with a curvy body like Katy Perry should wear. I makes her look like she has wide hips and pretty short, which she is not.

2

I don’t like the dress, very simple, however the only reason why she didn’t make it to the worst dressed, is because it Lorde. Her music and style is weird, so of course so shall be her dress. If I made this dress into the worst, it would be like putting lady gaga in the worst dressed list all the time.

3

Kacey Musgraves  wear this nice Armani Prive dress which as I said is nice, however im not much of a big fan of the bottom of the dress. It does make her look a bit wide.

4

The right person that should wear Alexander McQueen has to be Cyndi Louper. Not a big fan of the outfit but it truly matches her style in particular.

WORST DRESSED:

1

Now let’s get to the ugly, I have to start with this Blumarine dress by Sarah Bareilles. This dress isn’t really ugly but it definitely doesn’t go with her pale skin. Also it makes her look shape less.

2

This was such a dissapointment, I usually love what Pharrell wears but this adidas is definitely not Grammy material. I usually wear something like that without the hat, if I’m going for a walk.

3

When will I ever see Madonna wear an actual pretty dress rather than her looking like a man or a thug?. Madonna you are not a man, but if you want to be, just get some surgery done, I am sure that you can afford it. Or if you really want to wear a suit, wear a more feminine one.

4

Ms.Griffin, your dress is just as hilarious as you are. You are a really funny comedian but so is your dress unfortunately. To much print going on, reminds me of the hippy 80’s fashion.

That is all pheww, I had quite a lot to cover, but it is always fun writing about fashion. I want to conclude by saying I am not a fashion expert and this is just my personal opinion :).

Let me know your favourites, by commenting down below.

XOXO
